Mr Grayling was speaking days after TV presenter Chloe Madeley suffered online abuse, which Mr Grayling described as "crude and degrading".

^ But it's o.k for her mother to go on live T.V and say convicted rapist Ched Evans should be allowed to return to play for Sheffield United, claiming that the attack was "not violent".
Judy Finnigan criticised after Ched Evans attack comments: 'The rape was not violent' - People - News - The Independent

Sure - make it a law, but exclude z-list celebrities from its protection.

Gravey got banged up for a 10 stretch, a bit over the top I think, other miscreants got an indefinite sentence and returned with a new nic, where's the point of that, whatever, it's just a forum, have to agree with the OP that people that are in the spotlight shouldn't have to suffer fools stalking them etc because of celebrity status

Threats like this are vile and they need to be dealt with, but I'm very wary of the internet being regulated too heavily. Once (if?) this comes in, what's next?

2 years for dissenting against the official government line. This has been planned for a while and just waiting for the right time to do it. Lets see the bill when it is written- i bet it is not specific to what the press say, but is a green light to arrest people for ANYTHING they write on the internet.

Same with all laws the intent is probably good as in you can't go round threatening to rape or kill someone and expect to get away with it but on the other hand if people end up getting prosecuted for calling people fat or ugly etc. then the law will be a joke.

I'm on trial in Thailand for allegedly suggesting someone is gay. Kind of fucked up, but there you go in the mighty Kingdom of Thailand.

You are on trial in Thailand? What were the circumstances? That's bad to hear but al the best, you mean court or what? Do they hold your passport? You could always do a runner.

I went to a Christmas Panto with My Sons football team, and saw her perform live in Maidstone Kent.
Her feet where rather large for a glass slipper.
