    UK imams issue fatwa on British Muslim extremists

    Some of the leading imams in the UK have issued a fatwa against British Muslims travelling to war zones like Syria and Iraq to join "oppressive and tyrannical" Islamic State.

    Good stuff, now if these guys get death threats from radical muslims in the UK, then the UK citizens need to stand by them.

    The only change can come from the people. When we see normal muslims stand along side the British and denouncing radical muslims, only then will we have a hope of saving the UK.

    A quote from a report on that fatwa;

    "The fatwa states that although Muslims have a “moral obligation” to help the Iraqi and Syrian people, they must do so “without betraying their own societies”. So, it is “religiously prohibited to support or join” the IS, the document cited by The Sunday Times reads."

    And;

    UK Prime Minster David Cameron is considering introducing a temporary ban on allowing UK born jihadists back into the country who have been to Iraq and Syria. Cameron will set out the plans in parliament on Monday, British media report.

    Also;

    THE the head of the Muslim Council of Wales has asked for his name to be added to a fatwa condemning British Muslims fighting alongside Isis extremists in Iraq and Syria.

    Dr Saleem Kidwai is writing to a group of Britain’s most influential imams who issued the religious decree describing the jihadis going to fight in the region as “heretics”.

    The fatwa, the first of its kind issued by British Muslim scholars, ”religiously prohibits” would-be British jihadists from joining “oppressive and tyrannical” Isis, also known as Islamic State.

    It also orders all Muslims to oppose Isis’s “poisonous ideology” . The fatwa comes after the terror threat level was raised to 'severe' in response to Islamic State activity

    Welsh peer Alex Carlile, who was the Government's independent reviewer of terror legislation for a decade, has been among leading figures who have called in Muslim community leaders to become more active in fighting extremism

    Dr Kidwai said he fully supports the decree.

    “The fatwa reflects the views of the majority of Muslims in Wales,” he said.

    “The barbarism of Isis goes against the teaching of Islam.

    “I will write and ask for my name to be added to the fatwa. I cannot issue fatwas but I can support them.”

    1. It sounds like it was written by David Cameron.

    2. I wonder what they based their decision on. Something in the Quran or a hadith? "Thou shalt not travel to the east if thy Prime Minister says not to."

    3. What exactly is the "ideology" of ISIS? Do they have an ideology, a website, a book or even a document to view?

    Good luck with that one, unless they have dual nationality in which case he'll be within his rights but there is a law in place for that already. So basically he can't prevent British citizens from returning to the UK who have no other nationality as that would mean making the person stateless which is against international law.

    The fatwa, six senior Islamic scholars from Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Leicester and London, says: "British and other EU citizens are bound by their duties to their home countries according to Islamic theology and jurisprudence: it is therefore prohibited (haram) to travel to fight with any side in Syria."

    It was written by Sheik Usama Hasan, a former imam at the Masjid Al-Tawhid Mosque in east London.
    I wonder how seriously it will be taken - by anybody. The fatwa was written by Sheik Usama Hasan - a former mujahad in Afghanistan.

    "Don't do as I did. Do as I say." Hypocrite!!

    I though 'fatwa' was one of those terms only right wing bigots ever used to slam Islam? And the dreaded fatwa was only ever issued against, y'know, Us. How times change.

    Here is a copy of the fatwa. Make your own mind up. My opinion is that it looks very poor.

    ^Sounds very fair.

    Don't take the last bit out of context. The very first point is that Assad is a cvnt. The last point says to help the muslim bredrin in Syria and Iraq. It's a call to help your own people - not a call to global fvcking jihad.
    First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
