UK Border Patrol on Top of their Game

Cross-Channel swimmer confronted by police at Dover - because they thought he was an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT

    • John Van Wisse, 41, is hoping to break the London to Paris triathlon record
    • He ran 86 miles from London to Dover in 15 hours and 53 minutes yesterday
    • He was set to embark on the 21-mile swim to Calais from Dover this morning
    • But he was met by officials who mistook him for an illegal immigrant
    • He hopes to beat the current world record of 73 hours and 39 minutes

A sportsman hoping to break the London to Paris triathlon record was confronted by police at the British shoreline after being mistaken for an illegal immigrant.

John Van Wisse, 41, had run 86 miles from London to Dover, which he completed in 15 hours 53 minutes yesterday, and was all set for the second leg of the gruelling marathon.

He was standing on the beach waiting to embark on the 21-mile swim to Calais this morning when he was met by police, Border Force officials and the coastguard.

Ello Ello Ello, Wot have we 'ere then....

They had received a tip-off from a concerned passer-by, who thought he was an illegal immigrant trying to struggle ashore.

A witness said: 'He'd jumped in and out of the water from a boat posing for pictures.
'We were only there around 15 minutes before the police turned up. They were walking up and down the beach thinking it was an illegal immigrant.'

But thankfully, the police and Border Force officials realised their mistake and allowed the sportsman to continue with his 'Arch to Arc' ultra triathlon.

Mr Van Wisse hopes to beat the current record of 73 hours and 39 minutes, held by Britain's Mark Bayliss.

At present, he is half-way through the swim in what have been described as 'tough' conditions on his triathlon Facebook page.

He had just seven and a half hours rest between the run and swim.

Once Mr Van Wisse reaches France, he will then cycle 180 miles to Paris.

I'd rather such a person reporting in to responsible authorities than doing what they do in other countries. Had it been someone in need of rescue, it would have been applauded. In the days prior to this incident, a boat had overturned in the Mediterranean drowning a bunch of North African migrants on their way to Spain. One never knows.
Kindness is spaying and neutering one's companion animals.

^ The witness must have been watching too much CSI Miama.

Nobody was "in need of rescue", zygote1. Unless the photographer was wielding a machete.

Don't be silly. They were obviously scouting out potential landing points for their "brothers" who might not have the necessary papers/WMD inside their rubber suits.

There is a desperate need for snipers on the clifftops to ensure none touch the sacred land of Albion.

Van Wisse, Dutch man, met a few of them and they are mad, We need to be vigilant in stopping the crazy Dutch from settling here.
They are being overrun in the Nederlands by aliens swimming the Mediterranean from Africa, and running up through Italy to Van Visse land.
He wants to show them the short cut to Nederland, through the U.K
