    Nothing new, a Vice news report earlier this year went to the region and found that parts of the border fence were down and IS were using the Turkish border as a safe haven.

    The collapsing Christian/Muslim coalition to wage illegal war against Syria has finally collapsed after only 1 week. Today the French who previously bombed norther Iraq at the request of the Iraqi government has announced they will not bomb Syria. This leaves the US as the only "coalition" member left. The "with us" team/coalition is down to 1 member.

    Words are cheap, propaganda is transparent, What a bunch of idiots. So much for the "global" protection the US can offer it's lackeys. So much for the "overwhelming global support" for the US desire to bomb little brown men, woman and children conducted by the US.

    "(Reuters) - French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on Monday his nation would not launch air strikes against Islamic State (IS) militants based in Syria despite having bombed a suspected target of the group in northern Iraq last week.Islamic State is a hard-line Sunni Islamist group that has seized a third of Iraq and large swaths of territory across Syria. It has been blamed for a wave of sectarian violence, beheadings and massacres of civilians.

    France is the first nation to join the United States in launching military action against IS, which has forced Kurdish refugees to flee over the border into Turkey.
    Asked why France would send jets to bomb a target near the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and not do the same against IS in Syria, Fabius said his government acted at the behest of Baghdad to provide air protection.

    "We have decided to say yes according to the Article 51 of the UN charter and President Hollande ordered air strike, which has taken place a few days ago," Fabius said, answering questions at the Council on Foreign Relations."

    It seems that the Turkish have decided to join the war against ISIS and the Kurds both in Iraq and Syria. Also to allow thier bases to be used by others in the "coalition".

    Seems to me that Turkey is succumbing to its old colonial urges and will seek to expand its influence militarily. It will be an interesting show once Iran decides what it wants to do. After all, Iran covets much of Iraq and has armed Iraqi Shiites for some time. Russia must be worrying whether or not this madness will spill over its borders at some point and I don't think it unreasonable or unexpected if Russia's military positions itself to defend its borders. A quiet player in all of this is Egypt, the country that sees itself as a leader of the arab world. Jordan is at serious risk, both from a hostile Syria on its border and from the 1million+ Iraqi and Syrian refugees. Who will bail out Jordan? Turkey supported ISIL indirectly and some of the Gulf states such as Qatar backed ISIL too. A lurking menace are the tag team of medieval ignorance, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who both hold tens of millions of ISIL sympathizers. Maybe if we are lucky, they all kill each other off and we have a chance of peace.

    It seems the UK planes, 6 Tornadoes, will be upped to 8 shortly. Having hit 8 targets, pickup trucks, empty buildings and a lot of sand dunes it might seem a tad expensive. Coupled with the "Crack SAS Teams" doing their "training" and "target spotting" I am sure the ROI is worth every penny.

    It seems Biden, the US Vice president is trying to disassociate himself from the chaos.

    http://rt.com/news/192880-biden-isis-us-allies/

    "US Vice-President Joe Biden has accused America’s key allies in the Middle East of allowing the rise of the Islamic State (IS), saying they supported extremists with money and weapons in their eagerness to oust the Assad regime in Syria. America’s “biggest problem” in Syria is its regional allies, Biden told students at the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum at the Institute of Politics at Harvard University on Thursday.
    “Our allies in the region were our largest problem in Syria,” he said, explaining that Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the UAE were “so determined to take down Assad,” that in a sense they started a “proxy Sunni-Shia war” by pouring “hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of tons of weapons” towards anyone who would fight against Assad.
    “And we could not convince our colleagues to stop supplying them,” said Biden, thus disassociating the US from unleashing the civil war in Syria."

    And they did it without any US knowledge, ha ha ha.

    That is the laugh that the vagrants sitting on the park bench often make as they discuss things with their imaginary friends.
    There is nothing factually incorrect with V.P. Biden's comments. The UAE also bombed Libyan factions last month on its own initiative. These are sovereign countries and the USA cannot control them. You are inconsistent in your comments. Had the USA more actively protested, you would be the first accusing the USA of meddling in the affairs of other countries.

    As I anticipate that you will now regurgitate the usual propaganda argument of US arms sales, I do note that these countries have a diversified arms supply network, with Russia a major supplier. Germany and China are major suppliers as well.

    Russia sells billions of USD of weapons to Saudi Arabia - MoscowTopNews.com
    Remember these contracts?

    And this from common sources;
    The top five arms buyers were all Asian nations: India, China, Pakistan, South Korea and Singapore. Together, they accounted for nearly a third of all arms purchases during the period 2009-2012. But taken together, the Asia-Pacific, including the Middle East, accounted for half of all global arms purchases.
    Russia was the top seller to India and China. While China sold Pakistan half the arms Islamabad procured in that time. The U.S. dominated sales to South Korea and Singapore.

    Saudi Arabia has emerged as the biggest foreign customer for German arms, buying nearly a quarter of Germany's total weapons sales. It's part of an emerging pattern of weapons purchases by Saudi Arabia and its neighbor, the United Arab Emirates.

    Will you be criticizing those wonderful Germans anytime soon?

    But back to Russia;
    Russia Plans to Increase Arms Exports to $50Bln by 2020 | Military & Intelligence | RIA Novosti
    MOSCOW, December 12 (RIA Novosti) – Russia could quadruple its annual arms sales to $50 billion by 2020 in a race for the top spot on the global arms exporters list, a senior government official said Thursday.

    “Not counting inflation, I think we could reach $50 billion [in arms exports] annually by 2020,” Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reporters in Moscow. “It is four times the current amount.”

    Russia has more influence with Turkey than the USA. Did you foreget the all important Blue Stream gas pipeline upon which Turkey is gambling on becoming the key energy conduit to Europe bypassing the Ukraine?

    The American propaganda machine is a creatively designed, fine tuned, well oiled, efficient and effective money making machine that is maintained and manipulated by professionals. The plum is control of American tax payer dollar expenditures.

    The American political machine has managed to spin such convoluted and unreasonable tales through special interests that Americans blindly elect, and re-elect non-producing story tellers. Falling for the good cop - bad cop political partisan system blindly voting along party slates. Believing party story lines and rarely, if ever, doing their own investigation of issues that effect them and incumbent voting records.

    And the sad part of this rant is a conclusion that it will continue unabated. More than likely for the rest of my lifetime.

    I have no problem with anyone selling defensive arms.

    When the so called "defensive arms" include satellite phones - for comms and tactics, helmets for protecting the troops, body armour for protecting the troops, food to feed the troops, medical supplies to protect the troops, missiles for protecting the troops, PC to plan attacks and arrange logistics for protecting the trrops, using financial weapons to protect the troops, sanctioning to protect the troops ........... a smile does cross my mind.
