    Another Islamic State atrocity.

These Muslim extremists really are beneath Human, this lot DO need taking down.
Why aren't the U.S. and U.K. preparing airstrikes as we speak.

JIHADISTS have killed 270 Syrian regime fighters, civilian security guards and staff since seizing a gas field in Homs province, most of whom were executed, a monitoring group says.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported that a woman accused of adultery was stoned to death by the Islamic State (IS) in the northern city of Raqa, in the second such case in as many days.
The Observatory described Thursday’s takeover of the Shaar field as “the biggest” anti-regime operation by the IS since the jihadist group rose to prominence last year among rebel groups in the Syrian conflict.
The watchdog said it had documented “the death of 270 people killed in the fighting or executed” since the takeover of the field in central Syria.
“A large majority of the men killed were executed at gunpoint after being taken prisoner following the takeover of the camp,” Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said on Saturday.
“Eleven of the dead were civilian employees, while the rest were security guards and National Defence Forces members,” he added.

On Saturday, regime forces, a day after launching a counter-attack, had “re-taken large areas of Shaar”, according to Abdel Rahman. “Fighting is continuing around the gas field”.
Gruesome footage apparently recorded by the jihadists at the gas field and distributed via YouTube showed dozens of bodies, some of them mutilated, strewn across a desert landscape.
On Friday night on a main square in Raqa, IS jihadists stoned to death a woman they accused of adultery, the Observatory said, citing residents of their stronghold.
“Because residents refused to take part in the stoning, the IS fighters themselves executed the woman,” it said, adding that they pulled up a lorry filled with rocks for the killing.
The jihadists also stoned a young woman to death for adultery in Raqa on Thursday. Abdel Rahman identified her as a 26-year-old widow.
According to a local activist, who said that the public stoning took place in a square in the Raqa provincial town of Tabqa, residents are “terrified but do not dare react to such barbaric methods”.
The IS, which proclaimed a “caliphate” straddling Syria and Iraq last month, has also taken over Syria’s oil-rich Deir Ezzor province

Yeah, because that's worked so well in the past.

Murderers if they do, cowards if they don't. Can't win. Funny, I don't recall a lot of support for US/UK actions in the ME on this forum. Maybe I just missed it.....

Yep. Quite a few pictures of them running around in US army gear, with all the kit. I guess either they buy it on ebay, or they know a good army surplus store.....

Funny how after numerous debacles most were saying they were sick of the US being "World Police" and now......

any event, it's not as simple as just "calling airstrikes", they have no ability to support airstrikes with a full blown invasion.
Last thing the US would risk is the naked corpse of a downed pilot being desecrated on live TV again....

Yes, and they have oil, not enough to compete with the terror-funding Saudis but as IS expands it will swallow up more oil fields.

For now though, our clueless, willfully ignorant leaders are colluding with the Saudis and Gulf states to ensure IS does not run short of weapons or 'humanitarian' supplies, and for that matter political support.

    Thanks Davis.

The US screws up some times and yeah we squandered a lot of good will after 911. As I look back through history, I've yet to find any nation qualifying for saint hood.

If I were in action, I'd feel a lot more confident with Brits and Aussies beside me than some rag head...

USA doesn't really need their oil as the USA is on its way to being self sufficient. Talk about good timing. It's Europe and Asia who are the big markets for ME oil now. It looks like Obama's policy of restraint was right. It was Senators McCain and Graham who wanted an intervention and a robust arming of the rebels. On this, the USA has kept a relatively clean nose and the result is no US casualties or collateral damage. It's an internal arab conflict and they have centuries of experience killing each other over tribal feuds, so they should be able to come up with a made in Syria solution, even if it results in a lot of dead arabs. The world has grown weary of the arabs having wars and then expecting the very people they vilify to come and help them. Let them sort it out themselves. And next time they threaten other countries, turn their sandlots to glass.

Exactly. Who are the Syrian Rebels? Asad is a bastard, but is he the only one? The Arabs will stop only after they finally tire of slaughtering each other. Western intervention will only delay the final reckoning.

The West didn't give a rat's ass about genocide in Cambodia or Rwanda. The world isn't always a nice place and I don't ever see that changing...

    How about the simple theory:
Not one's business nor of "national" interest.

....even though the West fantasizes and promotes as it might be of their business/interests. It's not.

It's really bad what has happened in the north of Syria. It was an autonomous region where muslims and christians lived together and protected the area during the ongoing Syrian conflict. It's oil rich. The IS are coming in from Turkey and large sections of the border fencing had been removed for their insurgency. Someone on here posted a video about it a while back.

Now thugs with guns have come and silenced those good people.
Where's the outcry from the Muslim world..!?

None of course. The IS may be a tide of Muslim anarchy on the rampage, capitalising on the vacuum of collapsing states, but the territory they capture will come to redefine the borders of countries like Iran and Turkey.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

IS command posts seem to be coincidentally clustered by the Turkish border. Turkey denies assisting IS. Without fail, the West swoon over straight faced lies offered by our 'friends'.
