Thread: As many as five people are believed to have been killed in Las Vegas Walmart shooting

AT least five people have been killed in a shooting inside a Las Vegas Walmart store, with the attackers declaring it to be the start of a “revolution”.


Police have confirmed that two police officers and a civilian were shot inside the shopping complex early this morning Australian time, 11.30am Las Vegas time.
It is understood the attackers, a man and a woman, have since taken their own lives.
The Las Vegas Review Journal says witnesses reported hearing shots fired in quick succession, as if from an automatic weapon. People immediately began to run from the store.





The Journal says witnesses have told police the officers were shot and killed by a man and woman who ambushed them as they ate lunch at the CiCi’s Pizza store in the shopping complex.
Witnesses told police the female attacker yelled “This is the start of a revolution”.
The injured officers were stripped of their weapons and ammunition before the attackers entered the Walmart at 201 North Nellis Boulevard.
Deputy Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the male shooter, described as tall and white, yelled “everyone get out” before shooting.

One unconfirmed report is that the two shooters exchanged gunfire with a member of the public who was carrying a concealed weapon. It is understood one of the attackers was injured in the shootout.
A civilian was reportedly found dead at the entrance to the Walmart store. The male and female attackers are understood to have been found huddled together at the back of the store.

Governor Brian Sandoval issued a statement saying he was devastated by the murders of the two officers and an “innocent bystander.’’
Las Vegas police spokesman Larry Hadfield confirmed one of the suspects had yelled, “This is a revolution,’’ but the motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
The two suspects fled to the Walmart across the street after shooting the two officers, where they fatally shot a person inside and then killed themselves in an apparent suicide pact, Hadfield said.
“I think in any case where people are ambushed and shot it’s upsetting to the public,’’ Hadfield told The Associated Press. ``We don’t know anything about the suspects yet and are trying to learn more.’’

Clark County Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill said at a news conference that the male suspect yelled “everyone get out’’ before shooting at Walmart. The man and woman then went to the back of the store.
The names of the suspects and victims and their cause of death will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
Walmart employees and shoppers were taken to a nearby clothing store to be interviewed by police. The restaurant and Walmart remained closed as detectives processed evidence.
Walmart issued a statement saying it’s working with police on the investigation.
``We express our deepest condolences to everyone who has been affected by this senseless act of violence,’’ company spokesman Brooke Buchanan said.

Maybe the civilian shot dead was shot by a stray round from the gun toting Civilian.

Oh, and I am all in favour of people having guns if they want one. Not any old twat though - just people not on meds, no psychos etc. Guns are cool, after all.

THE husband-and-wife team who ambushed two Las Vegas police officers were racist, anti-government radicals who openly vowed to kill cops and commit mass murder — and may have been planning an even larger attack.
Vegas neighbours of Jerad, 31, and Amanda Miller, 22 — who moved to Sin City earlier this year from Lafayette, Indiana and liked to dress as fictional character Slenderman — said they were vocal about their hatred of minorities and government.



“They were handing out white-power propaganda and were talking about doing the next Columbine,” Brandon Moore told the Las Vegas Sun, referencing the 1999 Colorado school massacre that ended in 15 deaths.
Even before Sunday’s slayings, the scary pair talked up a murder-suicide plan.
“They always talked about murdering cops,” neighbour Krista Koch told KNTV in Las Vegas.
“They were going to kill as many officers as they can, and then they were going to do away with themselves.”

The couple’s neighbour, Kelley Fielder, had been holding a box of documents, three empty rifle cases, and an empty box for handcuffs, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.
The papers, which have been seized by police, disclosed the deadly couple’s plans to take over a courthouse and execute public officials.
Fielder called the Millers her “best friends” but said she didn’t know they were “that crazy,” according to the Review-Journal.
Jerad Miller’s last Facebook posting, made Saturday, seemed to forecast his own doom.
“The dawn of a new day. May all of our coming sacrifices be worth it,” he wrote.

On June 2, Miller posted a rambling manifesto calling for a bloody uprising.
“We can hope for peace. We must, however, prepare for war. We face an enemy that is not only well funded, but who believe they fight for freedom and justice,” he wrote.
“Those of us who know the truth and dare speak it, know that the enemy we face are indeed our brothers. Even though they share the same masters as we all do. They fail to recognise the chains that bind them. To stop this oppression, I fear, can only be accomplished with bloodshed.”

It is difficult to be outraged now when so many of there shootings have occurred and the craven politicians will do nothing about it. The NRA has about 2 million members in a country of over 300 million. It is not the NRA that are not holding the country to ransom, it is cowardice on behalf of the politicians who will not risk any negative publicity from this small vocal group

This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are thousands maybe tens of thousands of heavily armed militia types in the US and they are emboldened by the hatred for the government and Obama whipped up by the right and Fox news.

ya ever notice these people were silent during 8 years of Boooosh... yet so vocal during Clinton & Obama?

did they luv the government from 2000-2008 and then decide its was terrible again?

lets see... during booosh we got homeland security, indefinite detention, NSA spying on us, trillions of dollars in debt, corporate welfare, completely inept government who could not see 9/11 coming....
