10-year-old girl 'raped' by eight-year-old boy

A 10-year-old girl claims she was raped by an eight-year-old boy while his sister held her down inside a school bathroom in the US.

A 10-year-old girl has told US authorities that she was raped by an eight-year-old boy while his sister held her down.
The alleged assault took place in the bathrooms of the Edgemere Elementary School in Oklahoma City.

The girl's mother told police her daughter came running out of the school in tears, crying: "Mama, they touched me down there."

The alleged victim said she was in the bathroom when the siblings concerned her. The little boy allegedly pulled down his pants and then took off the girls clothes while his sister held her down.

A rape exam carried out on the girl at a local hospital confirmed her wounds were consistent with sexual assault.

"I'm not blaming the kids, I blame the teachers that are supposed to protect our kids when they're at school," the mother told local TV station KFOR.

The Oklahoma City School District says they notified the Police Department immediately after hearing about the alleged sexual assault.

Get with the program! It's the USA! Parents are NEVER to blame. It's ALWAYS the school, the teachers, the cops, the judge, THE OTHER GUY. The fact that you've raised monsters does not factor into it.

How is the mother of the victim to blame for this? For not holding her daughters hand through every minute of school?

I think she has a right to complain, don't you?

^I never implied that the mother of the victim was to blame - if you read it that way, I must not have been clear. The blame lies not with her, nor with the teachers/school. It lies firmly with the parents of the little savages who perpetrated this crime.

Notwithstanding that this was a rape, I still think the school has a duty of care regarding the childrens safety.

If this could happen without anyone noticing, then much worse could have, too, like a murderous paedophile spiriting her away.

I would expect better from them.

^^In an ideal world, there would be teachers posted in every bathroom, under every stairwell, in every empty classroom and broom closet. But, it ain't ideal. Teachers spend far more time playing parent, cop and social worker than teaching. It's an underpaid, totally thankless profession.

Any poster with kids, just ask yourself, "Could my daughter hold down another child while her brother raped that child?"

    I think not......

Look to the parents of these rapists. Teachers can't be everywhere.

Rape does not have to involve a penis.

Spot on... Schools are taking less and less responsibility for their students placing more and more of it on the parents, when the parents have less and less rights to do so.

Might be worth investigating how many times the poor little dear has raped his sister.

Actually they both seem increasingly to be trying to abdicate responsibility.

In many cases this is true. But the schools are consistently placing more and more responsibility on parents who already have over flowing plates requiring volunteer time and many other things that schools handled deftly in past years. I'm not speaking of home time here there is no doubt that parenting is slacking on many fronts, especially where behavior and simple manners are concerned.

I firmly believe that falls directly on the parents shoulders and it is falling far short. Simple civilities like "yes sir", "no mam", "please and thank you", these are all considerations falling by the wayside that separate us from the animals. My children are both polite and respectful in this manner and you'd be amazed at how amazed and delighted the teachers and adults are whenever they first meet them and make appreciative comments on it, it's so rare these days.. The school has singled them out numerous times and made them examples to follow by awarding them with honors for their respect, honesty, courtesy and politeness.

In many states like ours there is a charter school system funded by the state but they are profitable institutions and are trying to cut costs to increase profitability and there's no need to go into the end result of that, it's self explanatory.

Instead of convienientlly blaming parents and school. ...

I am surprised someone hasn't mentioned - the media, television, computer gaming and the internet.

The sexualisation of so many things (in a hyper-stimulating way) is being promoted relentlessly by all, It affects kids.

....and i'm talking Grand Theft Auto, online porn acceesible with one click, the use of explicit sexual language on television - non-stop*

*there was no effing on television not so long ago.

    ..

Sorry, but I can't agree with this, FloridaBorn...It's the other way around...Society has put too much on the teachers' plates...So much so, that they can't do the job they are supposed to do, which is simply teach...

Davis is right...The parents have to be held responsible for their children...The teachers are completely overwhelmed as it is...
