Plane makes emergency landing after bit of wing falls off

I would imagine there was some very brown trousers on this flight.

The CityJet WX281 flight to Florence had to be aborted after a two-metre section of the flap mechanism fairing was seen almost completed detached from the plane, with passenger and Telegraph reporter Cole Moreton capturing the video above.

    CityJet said in a statement:

The WX 281 flight had just taken off from London City Airport on its way to Florence when the cover of the operating mechanism on the wing became partially detached.

The crew followed their standard procedures and, after a discussion with CityJet Maintenance Control, decided to return to London City Airport.

Passengers on board the plane were redirected to another aircraft and departed after a two-hour delay.

Just goes to show you how big aircraft companies fuck over airlines by building planes with parts they don't even need....

Phooey, fifty years ago a mechanic would have walked along the wing and stapled it back together.
