If the planned deal goes through, US hospital giant will give Norwegian businessman, Lauri Venoy, the 11,500 liters of human fat taken from
liposuction operations every week. That amount of fat would be able to produce 10, 000 liters of
bio-diesel. And with more than 60 percent of the
American population being overweight, there’s bound to be tens of thousands of liters of fat, for decades to come. But surely, even body fat will become a scarce resource after so many years of liposuctions.
"Maybe we should urge people to eat more so we can create more raw material for fuel," Venoy said.
