    Boulder smashes through Italian farm

Dramatic pictures have been released showing the destruction wrought by a huge boulder that smashed through a farm in Northern Italy after being dislodged by a landslide.

The massive rock narrowly missed a farm house, destroyed a barn, and stopped in a vineyard at the property in Ronchi di Termeno.

A second giant boulder detached during the landslide stopped behind the house.

The family living there was unharmed in the incident, on 21 January

The boulder came to rest near a rock that had been dislodged many years previously

A second boulder stopped just short of the house itself

The rock almost crushed a car parked by the house

The first boulder rolled right through the barn and courtyard

If you notice neither of these boulders has moss growing on it. It's true!

I'd estimate the mass of the larger one at 2,500 tons, 1,000 cubic metres, density of granite is 2.6. Gonna take some time to get the road free. There seems to be another rather fresh lane trough the forest on the left of this pic.

So what do you think the real estate agent pitch is going to be as he tries to offload this piece of priceless property?
