Denmark tops list of world’s most responsible governments

In the index, over 90 nations were ranked according to nine different factors including limited government powers, criminal justice and absence of corruption.

To make it into the top 10, national laws must be enforced and accessible, as well as efficient and fair. Moreover, justice should be delivered by competent, ethical and independent representatives, who are non-partisan, have adequate resources to judge a case and reflect the makeup of the communities they serve.

Denmark is world leading in two categories – government accountability and criminal justice – and had a near perfect score in all the other categories. Denmark’s public institutions are transparent, efficient and free of corruption. The country has relatively low levels of crime and the criminal justice system is effective in bringing offenders to justice.

Government has become big big business.

Some might ask why government [generally speaking] exist to be in business?
Is this the base purpose of said governmental structure...??

Dunno if it's still a cradle to grave welfare system there, but by heck it was a good one, high taxes or not!

It's staring right in the face of the Seppos, yet they have to drivel about nanny state, control and dependency. Paranoid, projecting wankers. No wonder that the US scores badly in its group Western Europe and North America, ranked 12 out of 16. Especially poor in 'limited government powers' (meaning the US government has greater powers to corrupt justice than governments of comparable nations), 'fundamental rights', and 'criminal justice'.

It's a great country with fantastic people and I have many fond memories of times spent there.
I am therefore ashamed to admit that I once stole a bicycle there, I hope Danish Navy have stopped looking for it and written it off.
I am also indebted to the Frederikshavn bar owner who delighted in showing me the best way to drink malt. As I was a very poor student we had to repeat the demo many times.
