Osama bin Laden, Nelson Mandella. Whats the difference?
RIP old man, thanks for being around, you were an inspiration to millions.

an overrated geezer who fooled millions.
worst part is that now we will have to suffer watching and listening to that boremeister bono giving soundbites to the media about this.
I never bought into the " Saint Mandela " crap. For me he was just another terrorist that spent a lot of time in prison for killing people for his cause and having a pop band make a song about him.
Just what did he actually do for the people of S Africa when he was president ? The country is still a corrupt shithole and the black people there are no better off than they were under the white rule.
I am just glad I am not back in the UK where it will be 24/7 gushing tributes from the BBC for the next few months.
Treat everyone as a complete and utter idiot and you can only ever be pleasantly surprised !

15 of Nelson Mandela's best quotes
Black South Africans are free due to his hard work.
The country is now totally messed up but at least it is their mess.
Well just another mass murderer awarded the "Nobel peace price"
People forget, or don't know through lack of historical education, that yes he fought the repressive apartheid system, but in the course of that as leader of ANC's military wing, he also ordered scores of murders and attacks on isolated white owned farms where farmers and their black workers got killed tortured and raped, a favorite was placing landmines on the black farmhands access roads to the farms.
He is though a living example that prison works if it is applied hard and long enough, he went in a hardcore terrorist and came out broken and all nice like.
He tried his best to play nice when he was made the leader of South Africa and kudos to him for that, but he was also strongly "aided" by massive western pressure to do the right things.
But South Africa is not the success story that the western media likes to pretend it is, the murders on isolated white farmers continue to this day, and no western media writes about it, the crime level is astronomical one of the worst in the world.
Today I read a typical example of mainstream western media denial on the problems in Mandelas South Africa, a reporter acknowledged the appalling murder rate but then finished of with that people needn't worry since 98% of the murders was gang members killing gang members, not only a strange position, but also a gross blatant lie, lots of innocents get's killed during robberies etc.
At the same time corruption is endemic throughout society, and they have massive social problems, HIV, Poverty, unemployment etc. etc. and it is just to simple and dead wrong to wipe all that of on the former Apartheid system.
Anyway the coming days will be a massive whitewash of Mandela and puke-able emotional rubbish by the usual suspects.
He admitted some of his and ANC's crimes through the "truth and reconciliation process" he initiated, but that has of-cause been largely ignored by western politicians and media since it did not fit into the "we saved the black man in South Africa" hype.
Mandela was more down to earth himself, and tried to tone down the cult admiration he was subjected too.
RIP. Mandela.
What do you need your divine old queen for? A living representative symbol of your country. Well, so is Mandela, for the fight against and overcoming Apartheid. Shameful how many people here agree with it. Like you couldn't compete with Blacks without the law giving you privileges.
Forget News channels for the rest of the day then, except Fox, I'm sure they'll blame Obama for it.

On the one hand, some of the arpathide shit that went on was truly appalling (as was the internal tribal 'cleansing'), but SA is slowly circling the plughole and as has been proven by all the other countries in Africa (and most in Asia) they are incapable of successful self government.
A fuck up whichever way you look at it.
Mandela was no Gandhi though.
politicos, celebs, b-listers, his execrable family members and the lefty media will all be rubbing onions into their eyes over the next few weeks in order to demonstrate the terrible suffering they are enduring at the loss of this rather ordinary man who became the figurehead for a movement that had already reached critical mass.
like ghandi, mother teresa and the dalai lama when his time comes, these frauds can always be relied upon to bring about floods of cliche infested hyperbole from those who believe that grieving is not grieving unless it is carried out in the full glare of the press and the easily deceived public.
No it isn't, otherwise you'd have refugee camps in Namibia and Zimbabwe, and tens of thousands of them fleeing to Europe. It's Africa's largest economy, coincidentally the same size as Thailand's. It wasn't Africa's powerhouse under Apartheid, but became it with the ANC governments. Note that it's population is only 1/3 the size of Nigeria's, and 2/3 of Egypt's.
Boon Mee: 'Israel is the 51st State. De facto - but none the less, essentially part & parcel of the USA.'
I liked Mandela; I don't find many leaders/politicians likeable
