Pope hands out rosaries as medicine.

    November 18th 2013.
Pope Francis has advised Catholics to take a special dose of spiritual medicine, offering some 20,000 boxes of "mercy" - containing rosary beads - to pilgrims in St Peter's Square.

"I now want to suggest a medicine. 'What?' you ask, 'the Pope is now a pharmacist?'" Francis said, shaking a box resembling a pack of tablets, after reciting the traditional Sunday Angelus prayer from a window overlooking the square.

Labelled "Misericordina, 50 Grammes for the Heart" and emblazoned with an image of the human heart, the box contains 59 threaded rosary beads.

The instructions, provided in several languages, say: "Can be used once a day, but in case of emergency can be taken as much as the soul needs.

"The dose is the same for adults and children," it adds.

The unusual medicine box was inspired by followers of Polish nun Mary Faustina Kowalska, who was made a saint in 2000 and is known as the Apostle of Divine Mercy, according to the Italian news agency ANSA.

"Don't forget to take your medicine, because it is good for the heart, the soul, the whole life," the pontiff said.

Easy mistake. They probably did not read the instructions.

I saw a set of these medicinal beads being administered to a Japanese girl on xHamster this weekend. They are not intended to be swallowed apparently. They are for suppository use. This girl was crying and whimpering so suggest use of some kind of lubricant!

In this modern time a religious leader is handing out a box full of beads to his supporters.

Perhaps the Pope is on a secret mission to make Catholicism look ridiculous.

Might try something useful, like handing out condoms to his tribe; it would solve a lot of the problems in this country.

Personally I would prefer to see the Pope paying for relief efforts and medical care in the Philippines right now.

Maybe he is but I don't see any news about it.

The Pope aka "The Catholic Church" prolly has enough money from all the suckers to buy the Philippines, rebuild it and name it the Vatican 2.

I've seen virtually no mention of the church at all in regard to relief efforts.

What is interesting here is that many Filipinos are refusing to donate to any of the government relief funds, and are only donating through international funds, claiming they don't believe donations to government sites will ever reach those in need. Pretty sad commentary.

There is no guarantee that donating to a national fund will also make its way to those who need it.

The only two organizations I give money to are the Salvation Army and the Red Cross because I have known people who work for them both and have been impressed by what they tell me. I was also a blood donor in the UK.

The thought that my Red Cross donations may go to provide food parcels for people in the UK bemuses me.

IMHO money given to the church...any church...would be spent on trinkets before being used for any good.
I see fish. They are everywhere. They don't know they are fish.

In the Queensland floods a fortune was donated.
Then the government levied a special tax on everyone, including those who had already given.
