9 Hit in Detroit Shooting.

Two people have been confirmed dead and up to seven others wounded in a shooting outside a Detroit barber shop.
Sources have told Local 4 that the shooting, on Detroit's east side, began when a gunman fired several shots into Al's Barber shop.
Up to two gunmen then appeared to wait until people began to evacuate the building before opening fire again.
Detroit Police have sealed off all roads surrounding the district and emergency services are also at the scene.
Police Chief James Craig intially reported that three people have been killed. That number has been revised.

"Suspects engaged a couple of victims. Several shots were fired. It's unknown if some of the victims fired back. Right now the information that we have is that nine people have been shot," he said.

Well, at least not random. Barbershop was a known front for a gambling den, so looks like it was about that.

I was told (by a detroit native) that the Police more often than not don't even turn up at the scene when there is a shooting in the city of Detroit. The modern city of Detroit seems to be the NRA's ultimate vision of society (wot a pity it's mainly black). Virtually everyone is armed, and local vigilante/ gang justice rules the neighborhood, not the state, rule of law, or the police.

Strangely, that's only the poor areas though- affluent areas like Bloomington & Grosse Pointe still have an old fashioned Police force, and you can walk the streets as an outsider without getting mugged. The Arabs run Dearborn now, so it's pretty safe too. I'm sure the NRA membership will be moving out of these nanny state libbie areas into Detroit proper immediately.
