With the second suspect believed to have been involved in his death is still on the loose, thousands gathered in Spokane, WA on August 23 to honor WWII Army veteran Delbert "Shorty" Belton.

88-year old Belton was attacked and beaten with flashlights by two black teens outside of Eagles Lodge on August 21.

CBS Seattle reported Belton's daughter-in-law said the attackers "used those big flashlights" and "doctors said he was bleeding from all parts of his face."

But I mean it's not rocket science- the first reports that came out (see beginning of this thread) said all the perps were black. Pretty easy to jump on the race bandwagon from the onset. But then, that proved innacurate- the driver of the car and supplier of the murder weapon is white. Then later, turned out the 3rd guy is half white. If this is going to be described as a black on white hate crime, the glaringly obvious question is- what about the white driver? Hardly an innocent bystander. Second obvious point, many jumped on the race wagon from the onset, before the facts were known.

Not yet- all we really know is two young black dudes beat an old white guy to death. Horrific crime, but do we know why? Was it a hate crime, yes possibly. Or was it a robbery gone wrong, or was there an argument/ altercation first. We just don't know yet. Stronger case to be made than the random shooting of Chris Lane, in which the racial composition of the perps was 50% white, 50% black.

I agree it's easy to jump on the racial bandwagon. But, having read the shooter's social network comments, and notwithstanding the fact that he has a white girlfriend, I am amazed at the 'ability' of a small-town DA to categorically declare, two days into the case, that there are no racial overtones to this murder. I believe what he meant to say is that for the sake of harmony in his little town, he wishes there were no racial aspects to the case.

No we're not "all at it."

I first supported Trayvon a year and a half ago, when the media spun the who "race issue" - that never should have been.

After months of finding the truth, and also recognizing lies by the media,

I was convinced the Martin - Zimmerman case was NOT about race at all.

The "racism" was a narrative from the media.

Now, with the Oklahoma attack - which has race all over it - the media and police - once again is saying "it's not about race."
