Helicopter crashes into crane in London

A helicopter has crashed into a crane at a building site in south London.

Police said it appeared the helicopter had hit the crane on top of a building. They said it was too early to confirm any casualties.

Ex-BBC producer Paul Ferguson said the helicopter "plummeted straight into the ground". People have reported seeing a pall of smoke in the area.

Police said they first received calls at 08:00 GMT and the London Ambulance Service said it was also at the scene.

Sky's reporting that 2 people have been confirmed as dead. 2 cars were involved with the wreckage. Very unlucky.

I wonder what effect his will have on city architecture ?
The safe hight for helicopters around the ' Shard' is 2200ft that is into the flight paths of scheduled airlines to the major airports.

BBC news said the pilot was experienced and had flown in the movie"Saving Private Ryan". I was an extra in that movie and never saw a helicopter. Saw two Mustangs.
You can rely on BBC news. When I hear it come on my car radio,"this is the BBC news" I quip"BBC bullshit"
