    Mature at 14?

I'm sorry, but I used to ogle my big brother's jazz mag collection (top quality stuff, too) when I was a teenager, and I didn't go around raping five year olds.

This is a fucking joke. A three year "community order" whatever the fuck that is, and he doesn't even go on the sex offender's register.

Someone should rape some sense into that fucking wanker of a judge.

Boy who raped girl of 5 spared jail as judge says 'it's society's fault'

A teenage boy who raped a girl of five was handed a community order by a judge who blamed ‘the world and society’ for his exposure to pornography.

The 14-year-old was spared a custodial sentence after pleading guilty to raping the girl while babysitting her.
Judge Gareth Hawkesworth said the boy would have been jailed if he had been an adult, but added he had been ‘corrupted’ by internet porn.
Giving him a three-year community order with a supervision requirement, the judge said: ‘I’m satisfied it was impulsive and I believe you have become sexualised by your exposure to and the corruption of pornography. Your exposure at such a young age has ended in tragedy. It was the fault of the world and society.’

Cambridge crown court was told the boy, who is now 15, regularly looked at pornography on his laptop at home.
He was paid 10 to look after the girl at her home in December but afterwards she told her father she had been raped.
The boy said to police: ‘I think my hormones took over.’
Judge Hawkesworth requested six- monthly reports to monitor the boy and ordered him to register his whereabouts with the police for two-and-a-half years.
After the sentence Jon Brown, head of the NSPCC’s sexual abuse programme, said: ‘Online pornography gives children an unrealistic and sometimes dangerous view of sexual relations.
‘This case underlines why we want a system where adults have to actively opt-in to get access to internet pornography.’
Claude Knights, director of children’s charity Kidscape, said: ‘We have to ask whether the perpetrator’s sentence reflects the severity of the crime.’

Well, it is society's fault, but more to the point, it's his parents' fault - aren't they just a little conspicuous by their absence?!

He's a minor, and his parents are responsible for his internet access. His parents should go on the sex offenders' register... perhaps if they were made an example of, it might just act as a wake up call to people up and down the land.
Most things on the internet are fine for adults, but kids need controlling, and parents have to be supported, as most are completely clueless... something to push the ISPs into making it a more high profile thing would help.

Brit courts, on all levels, seem to be fucked up. Been wondering about them for quite a while now.

Mind you, the whole society seems to have pulled the plug since liberal 'values' took over.

The kid must be backward not to know this was wrong. Is there anyway these days to completely stop children from viewing adult material on the 'net ?

absolutely true, but rather than community service, this lad's very sole needs to be broken and reformed in to something more acceptable.... otherwise we are going to be reading about his bad habits when he rapes his next victim.

CaptNemo's got it nailed - the parents have to be responsible for whatever their kids are using the internet for.
My kids use the web all the time and I make damned sure I know exactly what they are up to, all it takes is a little time - something too many 'parents' seem to lack.
I really hope this 5 year old is young enough not to be affected long-term by this monster, who, as hazz said above, will surely strike again.

Actually, I have to know what they're doing, otherwise my 4 year old will kill the bandwidth on online game sites like kizi. As a 3-year-old he became annoyingly adept at booting up computers and surfing to online game sites on chrome; then pinching netbooks and hiding them under the duvet and playing at night - it came as a bit of of a shock how nimble his fingers are. So I use my business-class router to keep everything on lockdown, even remotely. The 8-year-old is less of a worry, as he spends most of his time learning programming on a linux machine.
When you live in a house full of computers and things, it's easy to forget that most people don't, and have no idea what their kids are doing. You can't expect every parent to be capable of getting up to speed and becoming a network adminstrator, so the ISPs have to be compelled to create idiotproof ways of helping parents keep control.
Still, you don't need much high tech equipment to be able to tell if little johnny's beating one out over a tube site in his bedroom every night. Take the computers out of rooms and lock up laptops in a cupboard. Shit, buy him a box of retro magazines! =P

The law maintains that girls and boys are innocent little darlings untill their 16 th birthday. Thus if he shags a five year old aged 14, he's a victim of society, the same as he's an innocent pure as driven snow child if matron or the pe master suck him off - in which case most people here would cast him as the victim too and demand the perp rots in hell etc etc.

    Bullshit swings both ways.

    Nailed it.

Britain liberals just LOVE to think of themselves as enlightened and compassionate. They're complete and abject fucking idiots. They have no grasp on what it means to live in the real world.

In short, they've not yet been robbed. They treat every criminal as if he were their child. They spit in the face of the victims, every time.

They implore the killing of a confessed mass murderer on the grounds that it's immoral to take a life, but have no problem blending up and sucking the body of a 21-month old baby from a suction tube, who can see, think, hear and react.

I'm neither pro-life nor pro choice, but I hate hypocrites.

Liberalism is a disease. And its supporters are hypocrites. British jurisdiction has become the laughingstock of the world. (Did you see the cup-of-tea legislation) Where do these imbeciles come from? Are all Britons retarded?

^ No . But there are too many middle class meddlers and softies. You're right about the hypocrisy tho, the attitude seems to be " we'll fight for their rights as long as their not our neighbour"

Fair enough. Parents should make it impossible for their kids to view certain stuff, I've no argument. Is it possible to block inappropriate web sites from their mobiles too?
