Northern Farmer Accused of Slave Labor

A 32-year-old farmer from the northern community of Revaya faces a remand hearing, Tuesday, in the Rishon Letzion Magistrates Court, after he was arrested, Monday, on suspicion of employing 18 Thai workers under slave conditions.
A police investigation was prompted by a complaint from the Kav La'oved (Worker's Line) organization. After questioning, the workers were taken to a shelter for victims of trade and slavery in the central part of the country.
