Worldwide there are between 15,000 and 20,000 species of butterflies and Thailand being part of South East Asia has quite a few of these.
At the caterpillar stage of their life many eat toxic substances which in turn makes them toxic to predators, also many have hairs on their body which releases an irritant, (so don't play with these ones).
