Singapore Restaurant Reviews

Hello Unregistered,

55 Fairways Drive, Tel: 6467-7748 Open: 11am to 3pm & 6 to 11pm (Tuesdays to Fridays), 10am to 3pm & 6 to 11pm (Saturdays and Sundays). Closed on Mondays

Off Eng Neo Avenue, down the end of a long, green drive, you’ll find Mimolette, a pretty restaurant in a colonial house that is just the place for a long, lazy Sunday brunch.

If there’s such a thing as a quiet buzz, then this restaurant’s got it. It’s always filled with chic-looking people, but not much has been written about it.

Maybe it’s the limp fries, or the schizophrenic service that can go from enthusiastic to brusque in one meal.

Owner Jonathan Chan calls his restaurant a work in progress, but if you choose well, you can have a good meal here.

I like the Mimolette vongole ($25), a dish of homemade angel hair pasta with steamed bamboo clams, white wine, mixed vegetables and succulent shimeiji mushrooms.

If you love those long, juicy bamboo clams, you’ll love this dish – there’s a generous helping of it.

You will also like how it’s substantial but not cloying.

There’s a hint of sweetness from the riesling used in the sauce and from the honey cherry tomatoes that have been roasted with rock sugar.

In the end, you’ll have room for dessert and tea, these being other excuses for whiling more time away in the restaurant’s comfy chairs.
