Ratchathewi BTS Station is located on Phayathai Road near the intersection of Petchaburi Road.
On Petchaburi Road you will find the Indonesian Embassy.
Hotels near to the Ratchathewi BTS Station include Asia Bangkok Hotel which has The Crystal Bar, and also the VIE Hotel is within walking distance.
For shopping there are Co-Co Walk and Hollywood Street, not really worth the bother though as Bangkok has lot better places to shop.
From here it is a 500 meter walk to Jim Thompsons House, or you can get there from The National Stadium BTS Station from which it is about a 300 meter walk.
