    A Stroll around Saigon

I was rolling with Davis's old crew the screamin eagles today at the Saigon war remnants museum.

It is tiny compared with the world's greatest war museum The Australian War Memorial in Canberra but great fun for an hours wander.

I do not have an F5A but I will be getting one after touching this one.

    M41 light tank

US army Chinook identical to my one

    US flamethrower

    Monster 175mm calibre self-propelled gun

I also do not have a Douglas A-1 Skyraider. They are enormous. I will have to get one!

Gatling guns on the side of the 101st Huey

I did not know until flying in that Saigon has an enormous building which I could see from the plane.

Anyway Landmark 81 is the 14th tallest building in the world at 440m

Saigon Green comes in 450ml bottles.

It is not really a decisive plan of action. I am more just passively seeing which way the wind blows in Saigon.

The ladies in attendance at the War Museum all wore tightly hugging ankle length floral dresses around their long slim legs and small bottoms and floated around with tiny steps like hover-ladies. I want to find out what is going on under those dresses!

A hairy mott... but you knew that anyway.

Here's a tip for you. Download the app called Zalo. It's a bit like Beetalk / wechat allowing you to see who is around you and to knock up a casual conversation with them. Specific to Viets

When Dilli says "you will not regret it" you usually will. However, you will not regret it.

Would love a go on that bad boy hanging out the side of the Huey.

Imagine being near that 175mm when it fired!!

450ml the perfect size for a bottle of beer.

Top thread Loops, keep them coming.

I'm used to the names Fa (Blue), Aey (A) ... but 'wind' is a girls name I've not heard before.

What is the beer like? The one in the OP?

Have not really noticed. Not bad I would say.

It is crazy crazy batshit city though.

    Reminds me of Phnom Penh.

    Traffic is batshit.

I would not hire a bike. They have an app called grabbike which is like Uber for viets and is on mocys.

It is great. You can pop in the target address and your gps location and it comes up with a price which is invariable 10,000 dong (60c) even if the journey is 7km and takes half an hour in the traffic.

You hit the green button to connect with the pilot and he appears in 1 minute.

    Bargain.

Don't know of bangers has got this yet but it is great.

    Well it is beer!

    There are 2 options.

    1 Green - cheaper - 450ml
    2. Red - more expensive - 375ml

I went for the green at 19,000 dong ($1.10)

^I actually noticed a bar selling craft beers and very cheap.

Not on the main drag but just off it.

They had a locally brewed IPA and a Weizen I think.

I will defo sit down there one evening.

They are ridiculously cheap, the locals are usually friendly and you can sit with them buy rounds for piss all and have a crac - good laugh with snacks and you never know what the night will hold, Fridays is likely a good one post office kickout. Hope you have a good one.

They're good fun, but it's a total lottery regarding the quality of beer you're gonna get. About 20p a glass we were paying a few years ago in HCMC for passable stuff before we switched to something she pulled out from the back in a big plastic bottle. It tasted like a tramp's undercrackers.

Loops, there you have it, I too had a few good nights. You can bank roll whole rounds in a bar full of strangers and still have change for a pack durex from a tenner in case you get lucky.
