Will Myanmar create more border crossi and become visa-free under the new government?

I hope so, with places like Kanchanaburi being so close to the Andaman coast.

Sure to be more. Problem is access. No decent roads.
You can cross near Dawei. The closest from Kanchanaburi.
I did it years ago with a Thai friend. Had a checkpoint but no one checked me.
Possibly because the guy I went with was a crook Thai MP involved in illegal logging.

With those empty ten lane wide roads in the capital, they seem to be pretty good at building new roads when there is a need.

With the pro-western new government I don't see why they would keep their current China/Laos/Vietnam style visa requirements in place.

even now its like 5 hours by shared taxi.

Just booked to head back March 1st
