They have nobody but themselves to blame for their impending drubbing.

Except the 'liberal' media, Obama, the Democrats, Blacks, Welfare cases, Pinko's, Foreigners, George Soros, soon Colin Powell, San Fransisco values, Hippies, unAmericans, Educated Elites, Gun haters, Do Gooders, Acorn, University campuses, lawyers, dopesmokers, War apologists and Peaceniks, Environmentalists, Liberals, and Women.

I take it back- Republicans have everyone to blame but themselves for their coming electoral drubbing. Everyone that is but the 'real' American, a Nam Vet who was last spotted hunting Coon in the Appalachians.

The libbie press totally demolished this guy. He owes back taxes, is not a union member, and his first name is not Joe. Hey, if the guy was a libbie, it would be totally opposite. How many folks owe back taxes? Many. Too bad Joe doesn't have a failed mortgage or unpaid credit card debt. Thank god he is not a union suck. And geez, Joe is not his first name!!! Oh, brother. Many folks go by their middle name. Another libbie smear campaign.
The whole point of that interchange was Obama's response to Joe's Q about his taxes going up: we gotta distribute the wealth, which is what the libbie press totally side-stepped.

Joe lied about his income, by stating that he was one of the 5% earning 250K or more who therefore would pay more tax under Obama. Obama took him at face value- so the 'We' he was referring to was the 5% of Americans- which includes Obama and the mythical (as opposed to real) Joe Plumber- who would thus be affected.

Talk about a storm in a teacup- no wonder it's become a laughing stock. Obama could have come out with a more cleverly nuanced statement than 'We gotta spread the wealth', I agree, given the sensitivities and doublespeak of contemporary politicking but like so what.

Joe Plumber, Bill Ayers and Acorn = the McCain campaign. Does McCain really live in the USA, or is he a hologram beamed from the planet Zog.

Oh please, my heart bleeds! Even if that were true - and it's not, they merely reported the facts - where was your concern when Obama was being routinely slandered and slated in the press? When he was, gasp, shock, horror, being accused of being a Muslim. When he was being accused of 'being pals with terrorists'?

I assume you're referring to the fall as being related to the faltering economy.

I agree that the US economy is in bad shape at the moment.

However....McCain or Obama cannot really do thaaat much about it.

The decline of the US is about 1. demographics, and 2. mathematics.

It's not about parties, nor politics.

Obviously I think and hope you are wrong Jet, but right now it is the Dem's who have the unenviable job of picking up the pieces left by the calamitous Bush administration, and setting the USA back on it's feet.

So I feel your analogy has rather backfired.

^ Oh, Ant. The ball started rolling on this before Bush even stepped in the WH. It's so easy to blame the person who's in charge when the sh*t hits the fan -- you know, who's caught holding the bag scenario. There are some fundamental policies that need to be changed. IMO, TARP is not the correct answer for the bailout. Infusing capital and buying distressed debt will not really help now because asset prices don't match the cost of the bladdy liabilities. Even if banks have better balance sheet strength, they are still wary of lending to each other never mind to businesses and consumers. Wait for part II, the unravelling of the credit card market. JP Morgan and BofA will be in big trouble, coz they have big card ops and those VISA card carriers are maxing out their credit lines, especially those without a job. Sorry, I forget who already mentioned this upcoming debacle, as I give him the credit for this story.
