Hardly matters here in Thailand, pharma's are so damn cheap anyway. But, back to the point, where are these three month waits for Doctors? I've never known any, and between UK, Oz & HK thats about 44 years of my life covered. Did I miss something? The standard of state health care my mother receives in Oz is nothing short of excellent, and with diabetes and osteo that amounts to quite a lot. They chuck you out of private healthcare policies for that in the USA.

| I am sorry to hear of that. As for diabetes, so many folks in Canada have type 2, but they'd rather take meds than sort out their diets and lifestyles. I didn't mean to get so snippy, SB, but in so many ways, the safety net/nanny state scenario is wrong to me. Sure, if free funding was used only by those in real need, it would be fine, but so many abuse it. Pshaw, why take care of myself or even work -- the govt owes me just for being a citizen. My work ethics and morals don't allow me to sponge off others. And how much control does the govt then have over your lives if they take care of all these issues? There are many folks everyday who are sidetracked for "elective" surgery in Canada -- you know, gall stones, hip replacements, cancer treatments, etc. Hey, if you are not at death's door, you can handle the pain for another six months. And it is true that the elderly are last in line for "elective" ops. (Hmm, treat those that will go back to work and pay taxes.)

| Sorry sabang NHS is rubbish. Always has been especially when you are old - they dont give a fuck, rather see you die then spend the dosh. Far as Glenn Beck - didnt he work for CNN prior to Fox? Any rate - don't take him serious he acts the way he does to make a point in an extreme fashion. Entertaining to watch, but doubt he is taken seriously.

| Glenn Beck,………… During the first (maybe 4 minuets) part of this show (link),……….Glenn Beck is praising the US Health Care System (while working for FOX) but just 16 months ago he was critical of the US Health Care System (working for CNN). What a tool,……….for the Republican Party. Link: The Daily Show Full Episode | Thursday Aug 13 2009 | Comedy Central

| ^ He's an Independent, bebe. I can't watch your version of Jon. Will troll it on the Canuck network. Haven't much interest in Jon or Colbert lately -- did they change writers or just get more boring? |

| ^ Colby used to be funny, but his show is getting kinda lame now. Rarely watch either these days, altho that Jon clip when he's trying to get BO to not say anything about the Gates issue and the police acted "stupidly" was pretty amusing. I'm glad to see they feel easier now clobbering both sides. |

| Beck touts himself as a Libertarian... I first started watching him when he was on CNN... He was much more moderate at that time and actually spoke to issues... So much so that I thought his departure from CNN just prior to the elections last year due to his 'on target' rhetoric... Once he surfaced on Fox, he is a different person, pandering to the ultra-right nutters... The crying on queue and the OTT commentary turned me off very quickly...

| He's not independent, he just claims to be. It's very common. O'reilly claims to be independent. Beck may have stated (as you say) that he's a Libertarian, but he's made many statements contrary to the Libertarian value/belief system. Beck....is an entertainer. Period. He's not a political man. He's an entertainer who discusses politica, celebrity, and social issues.

He's been given a big pay rise by Fox to plug populist messages, aimed at the lowest possible denominator. I suppose he's no worse a hired Ho than Britney Spears and their Ilk. | ||

| ^ True, I wouldn't pin my life on his words, but he does start some good debates. That's his job -- make people question WTF is going on. He was talking about Medal of Freedom recipients last week. When I heard Desmond Tutu was getting one I almost smashed my computer. That racist, vile slug dressed in preacher's garb? I saw him at a rally in Tokyo in the '80s and all he did was spew hatred against all whites. My Jap friends couldn't believe it -- a "holy" man saying that sh*t? They lost all credence for him then, not that they had much for him in the first place being a black. Nice pick, bambam. |

| Progressives = Clueless | Well, Beck will be happy with this poll! According to Gallup, conservatives outnumber liberals in all 50 states. In 2009, 40% percent of respondents in Gallup surveys that have interviewed more than 160,000 Americans have said that they are either "conservative" (31%) or "very conservative" (9%). That is the highest percentage in any year since 2004. Only 21% have told Gallup they are liberal, including 16% who say they are "liberal" and 5% who say they are "very liberal." Thirty-five percent of Americans say they are moderate.Among these moderates, Comrade Obama's numbers have been plummeting.
