| This just shows, once again, the GOP's contempt for the American people. Palin's nomination is a wai to the religious right. They know they gotta get quite a few swing voters to pull this thing out. They just lost that chance. Just as interesting is how they haven't learned from their mistakes. Granted Dan Quale didn't lose the election in '92, but he didn't help win it either. Palin is a Quale clone- young, inexperienced ultra conservative from a relatively small state. |

| Selamat Datang | What Newspapers Does Sarah Palin Read? And another excerpt which shows how utterly stupid this woman is . . . it is simply so un-friggin-believeable . . . and Jet favourably compared Palin to Angela Merkel (who is currentlyin St Petersburg dealing with the Russians! Imagine Palin in that role!) |

| ^ Ya, Biden's state is SO big. After watching Canadian political campaigns and speeches this week, I am getting more ticked off about American politicians reading from prepared speeches word for word. This is where the British parliamentary system wins every time, especially during regular house sittings. Fek, a Hansard is better reading than anything that came outta the US Congress. The backstabbing and bipartisan crap in the States is also making me puke. because its based on personal crap rather than the issues. |

| Now that Palin is showing herself to be lacking the attributes she was praised for, it is an opportune moment to state such. Well done, alas not believable given your posting history. |

The interview is damning again and if there is anyone else left who thinks she would make a better VP than . . . . Scooby Doo, then they have their heads severely up their arse. Honestly, do you think she is just sitting in the dark at nights hoping it would al just go away? Seriously, how bad must she feel being so far out of her depth and having not only her nation, but everyone everywhere making fun of her. I'd not be in her shoes for quids . . . | |

| Frightening....very frightening. She basically said she was endorsing Hamas - but the doesn't know who or what Hamas is - Hamas was indeed democratically elected. But quickly, she switches to Ahmadinajad In Iran, who was elected (partially fair). Then the went into Israel being an ally. I am lost on this Palin. I am completely lost.

| The 'young Turk' presenter also made a gaffe. He said Hamas, an organisation dubbed Terrorist by the USA, "they won in the Gaza strip" in a democratic election. Well, yes they did. Also in the West Bank, i.e. the whole of Palestine- those were national elections. OK, when it comes to foreign policy, or the world in general, Sarah Palin knows less than the average NY Times, Guardian or Economist reader. Thats not throwing an insult, that is a fact. Indeed, an understatement- I suspect we could add Time Magazine, South China Morning Post and several other publications to that list too. How important is this? It is rather clear that the Palin pick was specifically aimed at a Demographic- and a sizable one at that- that gets it's news from USA Today, if it reads a newspaper at all. And, as was shown in the initial euphoria, they identify with her- hockey mum, teenage daughter preggers, churchgoer, the common touch- she's 'one of us'. But she is ignorant of the world outside of Alaska, and I have to say not very intellectually curious either- otherwise how could she not know Hamas? So, will they care- will it effect their vote? I'm guessing it will to a certain, significant extent, although I am not really the best placed to answer the question- I've never been impressed by, or understood the appeal of populist picks or populist politics. You might say I lack the common touch, or even call me elitist. So it will be interesting to see- lets face it, their is a certain demographic that would vote Max Headroom as VP if he was running on a GOP ticket, and said he went to church. Anyway, attempted analysis over. McCain, GOP what the hell are you thinking, and what have you become? This is astonishing. You wear your patriotism on your sleeve- but do you really care about your country at all, or are you just cynical, shallow wankers in search of political power at any cost? And don't think you've done any favour to Sarah Palin either- you haven't. The GOP, the party of Eisenhower and Reagan, the greatest political force in recent US history, reduced to this. It is really quite pathetic.

| Now, as expected, as some time has passed since the Couric interview, Palin is giving one-sided damage control. Listen to there quotes, especially at the end. Quote:
