Is CNN Getting Kicked Out of Russia?

You probably didn’t know that CNN censored Putin for being just too darn sensible. Yep, it’s true. About two weeks ago, Putin gave the network an exclusive 30-minute interview. And you know what happened? Nothing. It was never allowed to air. CNN doesn’t know it yet, but that decision might have cost them their Russian broadcasting rights.

Sound like blog bollox to me. Not sure about CNN never showing all the bits, but it is quite common for the news agencies to edit interviews and to not show the complete interview (and it is also quite common for those being interviewed to get bent because of editing). If a person wants to avoid this they must insist in advance that the entire interview be shown (no editing), or that they get some kind of approval any editing.

Even then the network will still use only the juicy bits to promote the interview. Though I have heard of incidents where even that was not agreed upon by the interviewee - they insist that the only way any part of the interview can be shown is if the entire thing is show (ie no bits shown for advertisement).

It does seem that the full transcript including the bit the blogger seems to say CNN never aired are on the web for all to read:
Transcript: CNN interview with Vladimir Putin - CNN.com

Again not sure if CNN ever aired all the bits, but they did feed quite a bit of the interview around to other news agencies soon after the interview. I remember seeing some of the bits, and did not think it painted Putin in a bad light.

I think Putin has a bit thicker skin than this. I doubt he'll make CNN take all their toys and go home.

Yup news agencies are renowned for doing this. Especially if there are political politics that some certain agencies (left and right of the political spectrum) like playing.
