| ^ I was referring to Frank's statement after the bill failed. Something like if their feelings were hurt by Pelosi's speech, he will be uncharacteristically nice to the folks who made the bill fail. Uh huh. And what about the folks on his own banking committee that voted against it? Beside that, I figured ALL of the Dems would back it, but no. The Dems retorted that they got the number of yahs they promised and the Reps did not cough up the number they promised. Still, they have to come up with something. I think the market was just happy that the nays realised what a stupid bill it was and that it gives Paulson almost unfettered power. Big mistake. |

Pelosi has the right to make comments regarding the issues, and if Bush and Co find that disturbing then perhaps they should have listened to public opinion more often . . . maybe on the Iraq issue. Why would you expect Pelosi to be utterly neutral?

| Thailand Travel Forum | What a surprise... Fact check: Biden spins a helicopter tale. |

| Selamat Datang | Considering he has given over 100 interviews in the last few months . . . yea, not gaffe-proof . . . I 'd hate to count other's if they werea llowed to give interviews - not naming any names. I still think Biden is not a bad choice . . . not the best, but certainly not the worst. . . .that title was taken shortly after he was announced. |

| Gosh, you just don't get it, do you? She's the house speaker. She's supposed to be rallying support from both sides to pass the bill, but NO, she just can't contain herself from attacking the other side (I would bet she was infuriated coz the Reps cut her pork projects; after all, the speech was not what her speechwriters scribbled previously). As usual, not a smart lady. |

| ^ He had to initiate something! Then look at all the pork projects added and the almost free rein given to Paulson. The Senate passed it today and the market dropped, unlike when it was opposed by the House and it rose. I do not consider the biz community to only encompass Wall Street. It's biz everywhere. People need credit to do business. Worry about the companies who employ people first. If they all fail, the gov is just bailing out people with no jobs or hope of jobs and it will never get its cash back. |

| Thailand Travel Forum | Another totally wrong statement from Mad Joe “Foreign Policy Expert” Biden, who very obviously does not know the difference between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank: Here’s what the president said when we said no. He insisted on elections on the West Bank, when I said, and others said, and Barack Obama said, “Big mistake. Hamas will win. You’ll legitimize them.” What happened? Hamas won.The full debate transcript is here: Vice-Presidential Debate - Biden and Palin - Transcript.

Bad bills get nay votes. No need for anyone to jump on the Republicans or the Democrats who voted against it.

| Thailand Travel Forum | ``Say it ain't so, Joe, there you go again pointing backward,'' Palin said at one point. ``Now, doggone it, let's look ahead and tell Americans what we have to plan to do for them in the future.'' http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=agfv9hrJH9lE&refer=worldwide Well, that's all he's got. Keep looking to the past w/out a plan for the future...Joe |

| Thailand Travel Forum | Joe Biden’s gaffes: Imagine if Sarah made them “Biden’s largest gaffe of the night: I heard Biden state that Article 1 of the Constitution grants the Vice President his/her role. It is Article 2 that provides the Executive branch their enumerated powers. Article 1 is for the legislature.” -- |
