| Selamat Datang | Too true, and that's why Obama picked him to be his VP, but what's McCain's reason? Votes alone. Cynical, very cynical. I think Obama would have done better with a younger, less DC-linked person . . . but then he would have been hammered for neither having enough experience. I think, to round it all up, it is all smoke and mirrors. The 'maverick' McCain is not one Palin 'the whatever' is not anything Obama 'the people's representative' is not one Biden 'hanger-on for the big change' is not that. |

The VPs were picked to get votes needed to win, and get the votes from the specific demographics needed. More evidence of what a crock the whole election is.

Ah, but these two are the real deal - they are not pandering to what they believe will get them elected, they are actually working on a platform they believe in and are therefore the most deserving candidates. After all, where is it stated that only two parties should be alowed to run.

| Thailand Travel Forum | Another day & another Mad Joe gaffe! A complete idiot: "The media theme is Palin is unprepared and has zero knowledge of foreign affairs while Biden has decades of experience. So why does Biden sound like a complete idiot? . . . Dan Quayle is still a punchline 20 years later. Joe Biden gets a free pass."

| Joe Biden taking a shot at Bush: And last night, in an interview with “CBS Evening News,” Biden misspoke when he told anchor Katie Couric that today's leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow former President Franklin D. Roosevelt'sresponse to a previous national financial crisis. Declared Biden: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'” What's wrong with that, some might ask? Well, for starters Republican Herbert Hoover was president when the stock market crashed in October 1929. Second, Roosevelt didn't take office until four years later. And, not to be picky, but there were also no televisions in use at the time. Radio was Roosevelt's favored medium. Joe Biden's history lesson off by 4 years and 1 president but otherwise pretty accurate | Top of the Ticket | Los Angeles Times "A lesson from the history books", we know Biden is flip with the facts. Being in the general area of the facts is 'close enough for government work' as they say.

| The Gaffe Machine In all fairness there should be a Joe Biden thread since there is a Palininsanty thread. I am laughing very hard after reading some of his latest "gaffes". Quote:

if that were a major unified position to be taken during an international negotiation or conflict of some sort with them in office it could have stirred some major shite..

| This is hardly an international negotiation, and Obama is not the president (yet). I would have thought having an opinion of one's own would be a plus? Oh well, another storm in a tea-cup... |

Have merged with the existing Joe Biden thread- thanks for the URL booner, that saved some time. As for the 'Gaffes', well how trivial. Another reason I'm curious to see the Link is because I'd like to know which right wing rag bothered publishing such inanity. Biden has made some good gaffes in his time, but none to be found in that article. Palin own Biden in their debate? Well she's got her chance, but if her interviews with Katie Couric are any indication she's way out of her depth. You're clearly one of those Staunch Republicans.

| ^ It's going to be tough for Palin in that debate unless she is properly groomed and Biden sticks his foot in several times to offset her weaknesses. Bladdy h*ll, just what is needed when the markets are imploding. |

bush, mccain, and the republicans pushed through deregulation of the banking industry. bush looked into putin's eyes and saw his soul. the bush administration got totally out maneuvered by the n. koreans. bush got the country bogged down in two wars so the military couldn't respond militarily to either n.korea or russia if they did decide to do anything. but i have little doubt that you'll somehow find a way to blame the 'liberals', just like boon mee will find a way to blame it all on jane fonda and jimmy carter.

| The Democrats under Clinton. That's where the Fannie/Freddie mess started. "Hey, low-income/welfare case, you too can own a home! No down payment and the govt will insure your payments." |
