Sometimes I think Obama chose Joe because he knew Joe and his tendency to be stupid would draw the media attention away from Obama and his gaffs. Think Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis.

| ^ The mark is supposed to be a cross, so mebbe the makeup lady really did "smudge" it. Unless Joe was smoking a joint, got ashes on his hand and wiped his forehead (which is entirely possible). |

| Thailand Travel Forum | Too funny! ![]() Bozo the Vice President... JIM LEHRER: Vice President Biden had a new warning for city and county officials today: spend the federal stimulus money wisely. The officials were in Washington for a day of schooling on the $787 billion program. Biden urged them not to use it for things like swimming pools, tennis courts, or golf courses. JOSEPH BIDEN, Vice President of the United States: Because of the rules, the president and I can’t stop you from doing some things, but I’ll show up in your city and say, “This was a stupid idea.” You think I’m kidding? This is the only part the president was right about: Don’t mess with Joe, because I mean it. I’m serious, guys. I’m serious. I’m absolutely serious. | to put it lightly, biden has been known to stretch the truth....but i'm supposed the believe karl rove when he says someone else is lying? karl rove? ![]() the guy who had to return to the grand jury FIVE times to 'clarify' his testimony. please. anyway, rove has three (major) problems... 1. his brand of divisive and fear mongering politics has been completely discredited. it may have worked for a short period of time ( september 2001 - november 2004), but the middle is where national elections are won. karl rove led the republicans into the wilderness they now find themselves lost in. 2. he's clearly having trouble coming to terms with being irrelevant....watching him get all red faced on youtube is good fun for me, but it's certainly not helping the republicans when most americans see him on cable news. 3. he knows his legacy is tied to bush's, so he's fighting tooth and nail to prop up legacy of his failed presidency...and it's as obvious as it is pointless. this all leads back to how the republican party is leaderless......which leaves the democrats the amazing opportunity to compare themselves to limbaugh, cheney, and rove. good times. |

| ^ Got that from your libbie teleprompter, rc? hehe Several other Bush WH staff also denied that Biden said this directly to the Prez. (Maybe in Biden's dreams, which he often seems to recall as the truth, like his coal-mining family.) Funny, none of this sh*t hit the libbie televised media. Poor Katie Couric spent most of tonight's show talking about local disasters, preemie babies and a computer virus. Wonder who's running her show...hehe |

| Thailand Travel Forum | Heh... Double take. Joe Biden is less popular than Dick Cheney. Well, in the first half year of the first term that is. A slim 51 percent of Americans have a favorable view of Vice President Biden. Cheney was at 58 percent in July 2001. Al Gore, 55 percent in April 1993. The veep comparison comes courtesy of the Pew Research Center's latest report. | nice work, joe. ![]() Quote:
the front burner issue in the coming months will be health care and specter's vote can be counted on for that. americans want affordable, universal health care, and specter's vote will likely prevent the obstructionist, far right republicans from filibustering the legislation, and the dems also won't have to use a parliamentary procedure unfamiliar to casual observers...it will be an open and public, straight vote. specter's far too much of a hawk for my liking, but obama will eventually clean up the fiasco in iraq....this move was all about health care.
