I would certainly agree that the Republican party is dominated by "good old rich white boys", and that the Dems have a more diversified party, but they have their fair share of "old rich white boys".

There is much more that Alaska can do to contribute to the US and I think I can help it do that as governor," she said.
Not uncommon for folks to claim they are not interested or don't want to be a candidate until they are picked to be so.

Not to slam good old rich boys, but it sure wouldn't hurt for a new energy and new perspective to be enveloped by the party."
I guess it's too bad the blue team didn't op for that kind of diversity. Instead they also felt obliged to add a good old white boy to the ticket. While the red team did go down the road of adding new energy and new perspective to the part by placing Palin on the ticket.

Good on her for doing what she felt was best for the people of her state and not what was best for her party. This is the same thing I expect McCain and her to do as president and vice-president. And it seems the party thought enough of her to get McCain to put her on the ticket. As many have pointed out here she was not on the McCain short list - the party made him do it.

Palin does look like a dirty player, wouldn't be surprised she was playing on the side without the husband knowing,

she could play parts in some Mega Porn Production,

CBS is reporting that The National Enquirer Has been threatened with a lawsuit from the McCain/Palin brigade...Why?

Because the National Enquirer is suggesting that Palin may have had an affair with a friend of her husband. Seems they are planning an Edwards-esque spread in the next issue.

Srticktly in terms of entertainment -- this is better than a movie.

Watched the Palin speech this morning, but I have been tied up with other things and no chance to post. I thought her speech was great.

All-in-All I thought the night went really well for the red team. Not all that moved by the Huckaby speech, but the Giuliani speech was pretty good, and Palin was much better than I expected. I was pretty concerned (having not seen her speak before) about how she would come across. Did really well IMHO, and even some of the CNN “neutral” folks were giving her praise.

Yet, to be seen how it will be received by those still undecideds, and now McCain needs to follow-up tomorrow with one even better.

They do on occasion get it right. In Palin's case they may be right as well. If she is bonking on the side it will sway many voters. For me it is essentially a non-issue just as the Lewinsky BJ or Obama's preacher was.

For the GOP a much bigger issue as it again keeps the campaign spotlight on Palin rather than McCain's presidential run.

And remember Gary Hart and his affair? The Enquirer.

The Enquirer has several legal expert lawyer that carefully go over each story, word by word, to check if it can be printed and keep them from getting sued for millions.

The Enquirer has been sued and had to pay damages (e.g. Carol Burnett). But The Enquirer usually wins.

If this is not a rumour about the Enqurier sniffing around Palin's past, and if any story and/or pics come out of the Enquirer, then there may be some smoke where there is fire.

I am sure the Enquirer would only proceed with such a story if it knew it could back it up, morally and legally.

Milky is so right. The Enquirer caught Edwards, and they now have their sights on Sarah.

Funny how McCains numbers are dropping since she was announced.

You know Sarah Palin looks a lot like John McCain's wife. Of course they don't look exactly alike but there's something eerily similar about them. Is it just the pasty makeup? They may both use the same makeup artist so that might be it.

Just my opinion but Pailin looks like the type of woman who really likes it. She would have jumped Clinton in the oval office. I bet if McCain were to let her in to the Oval office alone with her hunting hubby she would probably get it on. She might even put it on video. I doubt she would bone McCain but we still don't know how horny a woman she is. She's got loads of kids and her daughter like most naughty Christian girls just can't hold it back. It's definitely in her DNA.

not entirely accurate....while palin wants to outlaw abortion (even if the woman was raped or a victim of incest), she would allow it if the woman's life was at risk.

once american women hear about this---and they haven't yet---she won't get more than a handful of former clinton supporters.

i'm looking forward to learning more about the allegations that she had an affair.

and btw, regarding her kid getting knocked up before she was married....apparently the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree......it seems her first child was born 8 months after the wedding.

The Enquirer has a pretty bad reputation because of the type of nonsense they tends to publish. On the other hand they are first of the scene some of the time because they are willing to published based upon just enough information to cover their ass legally as opposed to making sure the story is sound and factual.

If indeed Palin has had an affair it will indeed be bad news for the red team, and may well be the end of it.

Being her and the hubby are NRA members, not surprising she and her their daughter have "shotgun" weddings.

It was indeed an impressive speech, though her nasal, seemingly upper mid-western American drawl was pretty annoying to me. (Yes, I know Alaska is not in the mid-West). Keep in mind she didn't pen the speech, but she did deliver it with conviction. I guess what all politicians are supposed to do.

Rudi Guliani I thought made the comment of the night, that Sarah has more Executive experience than the entire Democratic ticket.

Sarah was entertaining in noting about Obama that "...listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform — not even in the state Senate...."

Insofar as her being a nympho - who knows? Let's see what comes out.

*keep in mind, it gets damn cold, dark and lonely up there in the wilderness.

I noticed that twang in her speech too. Sounds more like Indiana or Michigan to me.

Definite Canuck influence. Must be the proximity. I still "think" Obama will win but have yet to decide on who I will vote for. That Canadian twang might well be the swinger.
