I think it's called plausible deniabilty, which may be heightened or diluted by the media according to taste...for my money if he was so close to the preacher without a clue on how far left of left he was, one might consider how he's going to manage global affairs.
What will earn him a few but hopefully not enough points is McCain's age, which I know shouldn't ethically be mentioned as a frightener but sure as hell will be mulled over nearer the election by his cheerleading media buddies, and probably with some corelation to Reagan's incoherent second term.
Still, gimme an incoherent geriatric Rep any day over a young and twisted Dem of questionable pedigree.
