| Jumping Jeebus | The Inconsolable With the 2000 US elections we saw the birth of a new animal: The inconsolable democrat. A new pathology emerged called BDS (Bush derangement syndrome) In 2004 a new wave of victims became afflicted and those previously afflicted saw their pathologies manifest even more acute symtomology. Invariably this history is seemingly self perpetuating. I'm sure when Barry O looses by the narrow margins we're likely to see and the tsunami of freshly afflicted will wash over the world as Barry O is the world candidate. What will they do? How can the rest of us help? Will someone organize an new NGO to help. Perhaps Barry O himself will organize a relief system. Much like Al Gore who crusaded for global warming relieving the world of much excess money to keep his Gulfstream fueled and ready to jet to the next Nobel peace conference. John Kerry had no such philanthropic notions as he was already married to one of the worlds great fortunes. I wonder what Barry O will do to get his Gulfstream? |

How do Democrasts feel about their tax dollars strengthening the tie between church and state? Not unlike pro-life citizens who see their tax dollars go to financing abortions?

| All will be decided on election day, but I was reading an article about how much the US economy has really been slowing down at ground level- unemplowment Up, stores are closing everywhere, car sales are down precipitously. People are struggling (or failing) to pay their morgages, and a tank of fuel is expensive now. It just seems common sense that many people will be voting with their bellies in this election, and that does not augur well for the Republicans. Maybe, as long as they were no worse off, the middle classes weren't too bothered about the Rich getting Richer, even paying less tax than them. But now the economy has basically collapsed, the majority of people in the US can rightly be asking- what have the Republicans done for Me? The answer is, Nothing.

| ^ A surprising amount of rich folk e.g. Buffet and Gates have endorsed Obamas tax policies actually. I guess these are the Super rich- they're voting with their social conscience rather than their Hip pocket nerve. Most taxpayers will pay less tax under Obamas proposals, but the rich will pay more. I think Obama is right, but there you go- he's really just unwinding the windfall that was landed to the Rich by the Bush admin's tax changes. Unfortunately, the country can't afford it. |

| That's the income tax. Obama will increase the capital gains tax. The Democrat Congress is going to impose the windfall profit tax. The expense of meeting whatever global warming treaty we sign onto will tax people's pocketbooks. The standard of living will go down under Obama. |

| Jumping Jeebus | ^^It's more about fiscal responsibility than taxes. Though lowering taxes has in fact raised revenue. Barry's plan is to raise taxes (ie. lowering revenue) and raise spending. Both untenable situations. These factors amongst a few others (Wright, Rezco, Ayers) Barry might as well have a bone through his nose for all the chance he has of getting elected. Americans are stupid, but not that stupid! |

| Well, who am I gonna believe, Warren Buffet, or y'know George Bush Fiscal responsibility starts with balanced books. The old mantra of the Democrats being the party of Tax and Spend is so 1970's- these days, they are much more fiscally responsible than the Republicans. |

| ^ A lame duck Congress- no wonder they're unpopular. The problem is, no one wants to be seen as Unpatriotic, or labelled as Defeatist- so they just carry on the war funding. |

| Jumping Jeebus | No one is saying McCain's plan has much fiscal responsibility. At least a republican president won't stifle business which in turn creates jobs, which jobs in turn create consumer spending and subsequent tax revenue. The democrat plan is to first raise taxes and then hope. Not a good plan, in fact it's backward economics. |

| You mean an election year Congress, I think. The republicans spend the Democrats spend and on top of it the Democrats are afraid of losing the power they have gained so they go right on with the same bullshit. That makes them douchebags. |
