Barry is still an unknown quantity.

Texas went to H. Ross Perot. That swung the election. And remember that GH. Bush had an approval rating of over 80% in the April before the election. One of the things that sunk him was the economic downtown.

After Bob Dole was nominated for the GOP in 1996, I stopped voting Republican and started voting Libertarian, and still do and still will vote Liberatarian.

What's interesting about McCain is that many conservatives do not like McCain. If McCain picks a moderate VP it will reduce the influence of the right-wing Christians, IMO. Even if he picks a social-religious-conservative, I don't think McCain will pander to the Christian-rigt.

Can you say more details about how he's changed? He still supports gay marriage and some other issues.
