Will speaking Arabic kill the Messiah?
I just learned Barack Hussein Obama speaks fluent Arabic.
Now there isn't really anything wrong with that other than the fact he seems to be hiding it.
We know George W. Bush speaks excellent spanish. He was quite proud of this talent and often spoke spanish in public.

Seems like BHO is a bit ill at ease with his Arabic background. Why is that? He should be proud of it, no?

[Please note the capitilization of "Arabic" cuz I wouldn't want to offend any thin skinned Arabs)

I'm quite sure he speaks Bahasa Indonesia as he spent a few years there when young but his ability to speak Arabic I would question. If he did, would be a plus from my point of view or has it become a liability for a President to speak a foriegn language?

Hope his Arabic is better than JFKs German.

According to the clip the evidence that Obama is fluent in Arabic is that he went into the office of some geezer who works for the New York Times and recited the Islamic call to prayer. I can recite the Refuges & the Precepts - that doesn't make me fluent in Pali.

^ Agree, Lysander. He can say the prayer, as I can recite the 23rd Psalm and a few Buddhist prayers, but I am not religious.
MSNBC I think it was reviewed Corsi's book. Bashed its #1 position on the NYT by saying this position relates solely to bulk sales by Repubican outfits -- like how do they know. One commentator also said that of the first 11 or so footnotes, 9 refered to previous Corsi works. (Those lefties work hard!)
Still, I would like to read it and then check the sources out on the net.
BO did go to an Islamic school in Indo, so why not just admit that? If he has strong ties to Kenyan tribes, why not say that? If he doesn't, it just shows he's another lying politician, which is becoming evident anyway.
The FOX reference to drugs and "was he a dealer?" was below the belt, IMO. Gossipmongering drivel.

I wish that more national leaders could speak a variety of important languages. It would instill more confidence that they actually knew what they were doing and that they could relate to others.

I agree it's a plus for the President to speak a foreign language. GWB's ability to pop off in spanish is an asset and he is proud of it.

I suspect he's not admitting it because of the reaction he knows that it would cause. You and I might find it unremarkable that he attended an Islamic school or has connections in Kenya but can you just imagine what Fox would do with it?

From what I have read his language skill while living in Indonesia where a real weak point. And now many decades later I doubt he has kept up the skills.

If I recall - can not be bother to look it up right now. Obama made some comment about it being a shame that more Americans did not have additional language skills - if he was indeed fluent in any other language it seems it would have made a point of it at that time.
