| ******* edited by Milkman of course race was going to be an issue---particuarly because racists like you are insistent on making it an issue. the fact that you think you "called it" is laughable. literally. Quote:

Historically VPs don't matter much to the minds of voters. Whomever has the image of a good diplomat with plenty of flier miles will probably get the nod.

| OK, I'm piggy-backing off of the MSM. I think Biden will be the pick. He travelled to Tblisi, Georgia a couple of days ago. He'll bring the "international and foreign policy experience" card to the table. I don't really care. In 4 days, we'll likely know Obama's choice as the Demo Convention (of silliness) nears. Quote:

| Oops. Tried to put the Vegas odds in but it didn't work so well. Nobody will take bets on Biden. Any thoughts for McCain's VP? Crist? (without a phony tan would be good) Pawlenty? Last edited by Jet Gorgon : 19-08-2008 at 01:02 AM. |

| I think McCain's going to take Midwesterner and (faux?) populist Tim Pawlenty from Minnesota. If McCain can win Minnesota, he can even lose Ohio and take the election. It makes Obama even more vulnerable in the other Midwest swing states like Iowa, Michigan and Wisconsin. Gotta agree on the Biden call. He's a moderate, high-profile Washington insider who can allay voters' fears about the inexperienced Obama. Personally, I think Obama should pick Chuck Hagel, because Hagel's a pissed-off Republican and Obama needs pissed-off Republicans to make up for the redneck Democrats who can't get themselves to vote for a person of African ancestry. Hegal would also bring in much of the anti-war, fiscally conservative, civil libertarian Ron Paul vote, a small but very active political constituency. It would also make a strong statement that Obama is truly interested in reversing the nasty polarization that's infected the American political scene for decades. |

| I agree with you FP, on Biden. I too, like Chuck Hagel, but I now doubt he'll be chosen. McCain to win Minnesota? Good scenario, but I don't think McCain will get MN, no matter who he gets. I do predict (sadly) that McCain will win Ohio. |

| you haven't "called" anything...you're simply parroting what you read somewhere else (biden) or the blatantly obvious (that race would be an issue once obama got the nomination). but, whatever gets you through the night. Quote:

| ^ I really pity you, rc. Many great posters here have opinions and views that differ but make sense. If you quit lambasting people in emotional, personal attacks instead of differing in terms of their arguments, I would have some respect for you. You don't, so I have no respect for you. Don't forget, I said BO would likely be killed before the prez vote. Nice that you picked Biden several days after I did. |

BTW, Biden told reporters today that he is "not the man," and doesn't "know who will be the VP." I believe him in that he wouldn't outright lie, if he was indeed going to be the VP.
