| Sure it's April - that's why I said McCain would get my vote in Nov. BTW - He will still get my vote even with a broken hip. Toss in a heart attack as well and he will still get my vote. Pretty much anything short of a lobotomay and the man still has more gray matter than the "Nut" and the "Boob" combined. Go Johnny go......

| I am not saying the Duby is a genius – but he can’t be as stupid as many people think; he did end up becoming the POTUS. The use of the term “gray matter” was a bit of a play on words in regard to John boys age. All of the remaining three are intelligent individuals. Just so happens that neither the “Nut” nor the “Boob” have platforms that I can bring myself to vote for. That is not to say that I agree 100% with Johnny either, as there are plenty of his positions that I am not behind. But one has to make choices in life, and at this stage in the game in choosing between the three stooges – I chose John. There is indeed a long way between now and Nov, and I think that things happening between then and now will probably have more of an effect on the final election results than everything that has happened up until now – because of the mentality of the average US voter. But I, as opposed to most US voters, am not making my decision based upon what happened last week, or last month, next week, or next month. But on the platform of each of the candidates – which are unlikely to change between now and Nov. |

His father, George H., flew in economic and foreign policy tutors (e.g. Scowcroft) to tutor GWB. He had good handlers, good campaign managers (e.g. Rove) and the backing of Big Business, and other powerful interests. Being smart or not smart doesn't really matter. GWB is also not very knowledgeable about the world. He also admits he doesn't read books. One book he read was Natyn Sharansky's book, written by a Zionist Jewish guy who promotes "spreading democracy."

| It's telling that McCain has had cancer, but his health plan would exclude people like himself for having pre-existing conditions (like, erm, cancer...) Quote:

| The McCain health care plan might not be the best possible option. But I am not in favor of universal coverage for all Americans because I don’t see health care as a right. It is a privilage and as such one needs to work to obtain the privilages in life. I would agree that something needs to be done to control the spriralling cost of health care but I don’t see universal coverage as the answer to helping to control costs. IMHO the willy-nilly handing out of extra coverage in the 70’s and 80’s is a big part of the reason costs have gotten so far out of hand in the first place. The way health care coverage has been handled placed insurance companies between the buyer and the seller. As such the buyer became obliviouse to the cost. Because of this buyers no longer factored in cost in determining what kind of care and from what provider they got that care. This lead to many (too many) providers taking advantage of the system and jacking up prices and giving out care above and beyond what was necessary - to maximize their profit. Now we are all paying the price for that seperation of the buyer and the seller in the marketplace. There is also the extreamly litigious nature of things in the US which has led to exorbinate liability coverage for care givers that also has become a rather major factor in the cost of health care. The dad of one of me best mates from school is a doctor and he left private practive nearly ten years ago because of the cost of his insurace and what that meant to the prices he had to charge customers for their care. |
