| I watched the youtube. Thanks, BG. I can see how these statements may alienate the "middle America" types, of which there are a lot of. Quite possible some whites would shift to Hillary. Just a hunch. I got no numbers. As for Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the Japanese deserved what they got. But the rest I can understand, especially with Pentagon and US foreign policy.

| Senior Member | There are usually underlaying reasons for things that happen, Even if they are not to transparent and hard to fathom. Very few people will do anything drastic without aforethought and some redeaming reason. Even tho I can not always see it, I will usually give the benefit of the doubt. Even tho we are supposed to live in a democracy in the USA, Those reasons are not always apparent. Altho I really think BUSH is fucked up, I did vote for him as the first Rpub ever because he was better that those fielded again him.

I still think is was a strategic miscalculation, but at least it didn't cost millions of lives and hasn't poisoned innocents to die a slow, painful death for decades to come. Now then, as for the "nigga" and his "racism"...where the fuck have you been for the last 60 years? Been out of the country, that you failed to take in history in the making? Hey, there was another "nigga" some decades ago in the US, brought about some change in attitudes while you were pickling your brain in alcohol. Oh, and as pointed out already, the preacher guy doesn't stand out amongst his peers for his rhetoric, listen to someone like Billy Graham...

I think he would get away with that also , he was basically laughing when questioned during his interview when asked if the same Reverend performed his marriage ceremony and baptized his kids.

i'm sure your own racist ideology and agenda wanted to hear that, but i have absolutely no doubt that he didn't say anything of the kind....even taking into account the very slippery "basically".

and btw mods...isn't there an issues rule about hiding true URLs? for example boon mee took the time to hide a rabid anti obama blog's URL with an actress' name. is this acceptable now?

| Sundance is my bff | ^The rule is about attributing the source. As Boon Mee was specifically referencing Halle Berry's comments. Those were referenced in the blog he cited and attributed to the Philadelphia Daily News. There is no requirement that the source must be a primary or first hand source from the Philadelphia news itself. |

| pathetic. first of all the link he provided was to a rabid anti-obama blogger whose blog is entitled 'obamamessiah'. boon mee obviously made a conscious effort to hide his link. does anyone dispute this? and chinthee, which hat are your going to wear...mod or poster? you're already knee deep on this thread with your posts...should you really be making mod decisions? |

| The priest that baptised me was one of those fire and brimstone types, a Father Sheehan, Irish Catholic. He described Protestants as 'the Seed that fell on stony ground'. He refused to bury my younger brother when he died, young, because he had never been baptised. Kinda hard, when you are in and out of Hospital for your short life. Thus, I was brought up Anglican. Father Sheehan was later shunted back to Ireland amidst hushed up allegations of kiddy fiddling. Now tell me, what does this have to do with me, and my suitability or otherwise to run for Office? Sometimes, I just plain don't get America. Rev. Wright is the Pastor of Obama's congregation. I don't think that his 'god curse America' comment was apt, but what does that have to do with Obama?
