Well, that Wright cat addressed the NAACP and made a horses ass out of himself again. The more he's out there opening his pie-hole, the more votes BO is losing...heh

This is too easy...I'll cite one example - he asserts that the criticism leveled against his diatribes are an “attack on the black church.” Not an attack on “Jeremiah Wright, but an attack on the black church.” We're talkin' heavy-duty racism here, folks.

Michelle Malkin has all the details...

This idiot just can't shut his pie hole. He's gone on the speaking circuit again in front of the National Press Club. Every word he utters is giving Obama (whom I support) a harder time. The best thing he could do is say nothing to get this issue out of the public eye.

Somebody should muzzle this donkey's ass (pun intended).

Obama's ex-pastor speaks out about church, sermons

Quote:
Wright shot back the notion that Obama has walked away from him, saying the candidate "distanced himself from some of my remarks. ... He had to distance himself, because he's a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was un-American."
Quote:
The retired minister said sound bites from his sermons were taken out of context and said the black religious tradition, despite its long history, is in some ways "invisible to the dominant culture."
The theology of the black church is a "theology of liberation, it is a theology of transformation and it is ultimately a theology of reconciliation," he said.
Quote:
"I'm not here for political reasons," Wright said Sunday. "I am not a politician. I know that fact will surprise many of you because many in the corporate-owned media have made it seem as if I had announced that I'm running for the Oval Office. I am not running for the Oval Office.
"I've been running for Jesus a long, long time, and I'm not tired yet."

This guy is pure loony-tunes and a close personal friend of BO

"The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God d*mn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. God d*mn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God d*mn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme." -- Jeremiah Wright

"We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost." -- Jeremiah Wright

"America is still the No. 1 killer in the world." -- Jeremiah Wright

"In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just 'disappeared' as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns." -- Jeremiah Wright

"Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run. No black man will ever be considered for president, no matter how hard you run Jesse [Jackson] and no black woman can ever be considered for anything outside what she can give with her body." -- Jeremiah Wright

"We started the AIDS virus. ...We are only able to maintain our level of living by making sure that Third World people live in grinding poverty." -- Jeremiah Wright

"The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied." -- Jeremiah Wright

Well, got it figured out. Wright is a Hillary supporter. How else can you figure this:

Barack HUSSEIN Obama," he said, emphasizing the Illinois senator's middle name dramatically, "Barack HUSSEIN Obama, Barack HUSSEIN Obama. There are Arabic-speaking Christians, there Arabic-speaking Jews, Arabic-speaking Muslims and Arabic-speaking atheists. Arabic is a language, it is not a religion. Stop trying to scare folks by giving them this Arabic name like it's some disease."

That's really gonna help BO in Indiana!

I just put this one in the pres thread, but let me add it again for you here, Ray:
Wright has refired his personal crusade. In his speech at the NAACP mtg, he noted that black children are attacked for their manner of speaking and then parodied JFK (in phony falsetto voice): "Yeesk not what your country... What is 'yeesk'," Wright shouted and then said that nobody criticised JFK for his way of speaking. He must be related to you Ray.

Wright brings race issue back to '08 race

Quote:
Without coordinating with the Obama campaign, Wright has launched a pugnacious public-relations blitz to defend his church and explain comments that critics have called racially inflammatory and unpatriotic.
Quote:
In a talk in Washington Monday morning, Wright was by turns professorial, defiant, and flip, twice offering himself up as a candidate for vice president.
Quote:
The Illinois senator was already fending off new questions about his ability to win enough blue-collar white voters to close the protracted nomination fight with Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Wright now returns to the headlines as Obama faces new tests of his bid for a postracial politics, first in Indiana on May 6 then in West Virginia and Kentucky later in the month.
Quote:
Obama has said he sharply disagrees with Wright's portrayal of American government as racist, corrupt, and murderous. But he said in his speech last month that Wright had been "like family to me," "as imperfect as he may be," and sought to put Wright's comments in the context of an older generation of African-Americans embittered by painful firsthand memories of discrimination.
Quote:
Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, had been largely silent on Wright, saying he did not believe Obama shared his former pastor's views. Last week, he asked the North Carolina GOP, unsuccessfully, to scrap the ad.
But in an apparent shift, McCain denounced Wright at a news conference in Florida Sunday. He called "beyond belief" Wright's remarks comparing the Romans of Jesus' day to the US Marines and likening America to Al Qaeda.
McCain said that Obama had made Wright fair game by telling Fox on Sunday that Wright's remarks were a "legitimate political issue."
Wright brings race issue back to '08 race | csmonitor.com

Yes, I can understand the need for someone to defend his lifelong career and character. However, I can't understand a black religious leader not putting this on the back burner for a few months until the smoke clears so that history could be made and a black man elected to the White House.

I wonder if there is some sort of payback going on here, that Wright was hurt that Obama didn't stick up for him more?

i was listening to an analyst this morning who put forth that there has been some tension between wright and obama for quite some time. he claimed that wright was jealous of obama...after all, just a few years ago he was a state senator, and now he's going to be president of the US.

The real issue is that this is sort of an omni-360 degree problem for Obama. First, he has the issues stay alive and in the forefront of the media. Second, this war by Wright casts a cloud over his own (Wright's) character. If it is motivated by avarice, jealousy or some other non-Christian value, it magnifies whatever character issues already existed regarding Wright.

Third, if Wright is in fact acting out of such pettiness to deny the Presidency to a black, he is in fact a total hypocrite, in that he obviously does not care about blacks advancing as much as his own ego.

And to come full circle, the fact that Obama has acknowledged that he was a close spiritual advisor and confidant further calls into doubt Obama's own character, either for not seeing Wright's bad character, or for sharing Wright's views himself.

Nothing but bad. Wright is Obama's worst campaign disaster it appears. Hopefully it won't derail him, and many observers believe it won't.

Jeremiah Wright Goes to War

Quote:
Maybe Barack Obama skimped on his contribution when the offering plate came past at Trinity United Church of Christ. Or perhaps he nodded off during one of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's sermons. It's hard to think of another reason why the Illinois Senator's former pastor would put on the kind of performance this morning at the National Press Club that can only be described as a political disaster.
Quote:
The combative pose that Wright chose to strike is perhaps most damaging not to Obama's candidacy - although the candidate will surely endure yet another round of scrutiny regarding his relationship to the minister and his positions on Wright's views - but to Wright's own message. Because he is right when he says that most Americans don't understand the black church and that their resulting confusion and fear contributes to a racial divide.

The media is jumping on this for goo-goo-gaga ratings. Another example of why I've basically dropped out. Wright? Who cares. The polemicist and spin doctors (like Malkin) make their living off of this, as well as Anderson Cooper and the production team of CNN.

Why are we even talking about this? Because the media has spoon fed this to us.

My prediction is that Henrey R. Clinton will beat Obama then the Republican nominee will be in office again.

Unfortunately.

I watched the pundits debate on Larry King, which included snips of Wright's (press conference?)

This will hurt Obama. It may not help Clinton, but it will surely hurt Obama. Wright has a big ego and was insulted by Obama.

He's a shit, venom-spewing pastor who Obama should have distanced himself from long ago. He's a mirror-image clansman with a free pass and the media is giving him enough rope for two.

Whether he wins the Dem nomination or not, Obama will regret the relationship.
