Every time he asked a question, she started off with a drawn-out, "You knooow~." Reminds me of a rookie rapper, "You know what I'm sayin?" Or like a high-school sophmore, like all friendly and like, you know, like cool! She doesn't have her husband's slick speaking style, at all. You know what I'm sayin? I didn't disagree with her points, just the way she said it. | |

| Sundance is my bff | ^Exactly my point. AND, I guess I am baiting a bit, in what will be undoubtedly a most interesting period in Presidential history if Obama does get elected. Where will the PC movement go? Will everyone be walking on pins and needles to be ultra PC, or will people finally relax about the race issue? I'm not sure.... |

| Sundance is my bff | Ok, let's put it this way. How many forum members think Michelle O'bama is attractive? How many think she has a face that resembles the actors in Planet of the Apes? I think I know what the answer will be. This has nothing to do with race. It has to do with appearance. And, it has nothing to do with Barack O'bama, and nothing to do with whether or not she would make a good first lady. I'm sure she would. It's simply a harmless comment about her looks. Nothing more. Nothing less. |

| Sundance is my bff | Because it would be disrespectful of a woman who could be first lady. (Not saying she looked like a monkey, but commenting on her looks at all as it is irrelevant to whether or not her husband is a good Presidential candidate and whether she would make a good first lady - the ugliest first lady in history was Barbara Bush) However, depends on the age of my children. If they were adults, I wouldn't hesitate. |

| Michelle Obama I reckon she deserves her own sewing thread. (Mr Mods, could you pull in the comments about her from the Barack thread, please?) Then it's all nice and tidy. OK, a brief bio: * MICHELLE ROBINSON OBAMA - THE EARLY YEARS Born on January 17, 1964, Michelle Robinson was raised in a one-bedroom apartment on Chicago's South Shore. Of note is that she shared a "bedroom" with her brother, but it wasn't much of a bedroom. It was actually the living room with a divider down the middle. After high school Michelle Robinson majored in sociology at Princeton University, graduating with cum laude honors in 1985. (sociology? Step up from TEFL innit?) From there she attended Harvard where she earned her law degree in 1988, one year ahead of her husband-to-be, Barack, whom she hadn't met yet but attended the same law school. (Who paid for school and how did she get in -- racial quota or brains?) * MICHELLE AND BARACK MEET After graduating from Harvard, Michelle accepted a position at a downtown Chicago law firm. In 1989 she was asked to mentor a summer associate from Harvard name Barack Obama. According to reports, Barack didn't have much interest in corporate law, but did have a lot of interest in Michelle. * MICHELLE'S ROBINSON OBAMA'S CAREER Michelle's impressive resume includes: Former associate dean at the University of Chicago; a member of six boards of directors including the prestigious Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and Tree House Foods; and Vice President, Community and External Affairs at the University of Chicago Hospitals. In this position she was responsible for all programs and initiatives that involve the relationships between the hospitals and the community as well as management of the hospitals' business diversity program. (Patients pay, doctors play, innit?) * MICHELLE OBAMA'S INFLUENCES ON BARACK'S POLITICAL CAREER In this 2004 Senate race, Obama had the support of influential black business leaders, some of whom had closer ties to his wife than they did to him. According to Newsweek, a former boss of Michelle Obama's, a powerful black woman Valerie Jarrett, chair of the Chicago Stock Exchange, served as finance chair of Barack Obama's U.S. Senate campaign. * MICHELLE OBAMA: THE MOM & WIFE After Barack was elected to the U.S. Senate, Barack and Michelle choose to keep their children in Chicago, where Michelle continued her career as well. Every Sunday the family attends services at the Trinity United Church of Christ. (Gotta add the church thang.) According to reports, Michelle has mastered being a mother, careBut there's more to it. "Barack didn't pledge riches" Michelle explains to Newsweek. "Only a life that would be interesting. On that promise he's delivered." Michelle Obama: Biography and Photos on Squidoo oooh, Tex is gonna love this: "Michelle Obama, who turns 44 in mid-January, is also young, by First Lady standards. Regally tall, stunning, and city-chic in a triple strand of pearls atop her country-casual pants-and-sweater outfit, she manages to look as down to earth as any other soccer mom and as glamorous as a model while instantly commanding respect, even before she starts to speak." There's Vanity Fair sucking up big time. First Lady in Waiting: Politics & Power: vanityfair.com Two clippies: This one from today: CBS News Video - Top Stories and Video News Clips at CBSNews.com She seems to be speaking better. |
