Michelle, apart from graduating summa cum laude from Princeton in 1985, also was honoured with an Artium Baccalareus (whatever that is).

She then graduated from Harvard with a Doctorate of Law in 1988.

She grew up in a two parent, stable family (unlike Barak), which is perhaps why her brother Craig is also a success- 4th highest scoring basketballer for Princeton ever, and went on to coach Brown University, now coaches the Oregon Beavers.

Vanity Fair listed her as amongst the worlds ten best dressed women in July 2007, In September 2007 she was listed 58th of the 100 most influential Harvard alumni (Barak was 4th).

In spite of this attempt to depict her as the Racist, I just don't buy it. Have we seen anywhere near this much attention on Mrs McCain, a woman who's only real achievement was snagging an old married guy 15 years her senior, and breaking up a family in the process? Nope. But she's White.

This is thinly disguised Racism. Michelle Obama has little if anything to apologise for, and a lot to be proud of.

I don't know what her clothing has to do with her ideologies, but that's a nice trophy to have, I guess. Obviously she loves dressing up and recently noted: "I'm a big fan of accessories. I'm married to one."
I know her academic achievements, SB, but I am listening to what she is saying now. She is heavily focused on raising the standards of the low-income black commmunity, demanding that Americans give up a bigger piece of their pie (ie, way more taxes) to fund healthcare/social progs, has stated that Barack could be shot just going to the gas station because he is a black man, and her now sneaked out thesis is also being labeled as racist (google michelle obama racist comments). OK, as Norton noted, that is her student days, but I still think that sentiment remains with her.
I just keep watching coz she lets bits slip in her speeches. Her handlers are conscious of her "racist" image, too, as they recently shouted "we need more white people" behind her for a speech -- you know, gotta get the news images that whites love her. The mainstream media is just gushing over them both. Fine, read American bloggers, watch some clips on Youtube, watch some right-wing news just to get an overall opinion, not just the lefties'.

The Obamas are great role models for the Black community, indeed any minority.
The fact that they have got this far in the Presidential campaign (and look odds on to snare the Dem nomination) has also thrust them into maximum visibility.

Good on them I say, and kudos to the USA too- I would not have believed this possible a year ago. The USA, like any democracy, allows a wide range of freedom of expression and thought. What we tend to read here is the more sensationalist stuff of course, but the plain fact is it is the Polls that speak loudest about what the average man on the street thinks, and Obama is a serious contender indeed.

Which explains the hysterical nature of the anti Obama blogs, at the end of the day. Keep 'em coming- it's amusing.

Well if they can do it then why can't the darkies?? They been there a lot more years than the orientals, in fact a lot longer than some of the white immigrants that didn't get there until the early 20th century, and everyone else seems to be doing OK.

well yes really.
The Asians have mostly had to work for what they have, and the Darkies have never had to work for anything as what ever they wanted was given to them.

seems that some folks feel guilty cause some, not all darkies, were at one time slaves of some few early American farmers and the darkies will not let them forget it, and so all darkies now consider all whites to have been slave owners and owe them a free living, but the orientals that were abused are told to forget it and just suck it up.
