Health care: The indigent and unemployed get shitty free health care now. They'll get shitty free health care under the new plan. The only thing that will change is the poor will no longer feel shamed that they can't pay for it, and 200,000 new bureaucratic administrators will have jobs.

Education: Tax the wealthy, who send their children to good private schools, so the poor can send their children to the same schools. Then the wealthy move their children because the standards drop, followed by a tax increase so the poor can follow them. Add 50,000 administrators. Education should a function of individual states. America is too big and diverse to treat it as a national issue. It might be feasible if it were 1/2 the size. DOE should be comprised of about 50 top educators who issue guidelines. Nothing more.

I'm against the whole notion that everything should be made exactly equal for everybody.

You factor out ambition, drive, intellect, rewards, motivation and end up with a vanilla, piss-weak alternative where everyone is equally miserable. Satisfaction at last!

Obama’s campaign manager contacted API by telephone and email offering 3 million US dollars followed with a request to API to cancel the deal with Fox News Network.

Michelle Obama has received top billing on the opening night of the convention, which begins this month in Denver, Colorado, where she will be the prime-time speaker.

The convention will officially crown Senator Obama as the Democratic Party's presidential nominee on the fourth and final night, when he accepts the nomination in front of 75,000 people.

The wives of Democratic nominees have traditionally addressed the convention but Ms Obama is the first to be given headline and prime-time status.

Her opening night address and Senator Obama's acceptance speech will bookend addresses by Senator Hillary Clinton and former president Bill Clinton.

Senator Clinton will be the headline act on the second night of the convention, speaking on the 88th anniversary of American women winning the right to vote.

The former president will take the stage on the third night to introduce the yet-to-be-named vice-presidential nominee.

There is no African Press International. This page is another smear made by Stormfront, a neo-Nazi group. National Review has already debunked this and Lucianne.com pulled the article posted on their site, but desperate neocons continue to post it anyway... most of them completely unaware that the source of their fictitious smear has such heinous anti-American ties.

McCain is also a hawk on Georgia in the Caucasus and if he is to remain credible he'd have to increase US troop presence in the Greater Middle East.
But McCain is not about the military status quo. He is ambitious for further conflicts. The current US military is too small to handle yet another front, and to maintain, as McCain insists they must, the current ones.

My friends, there is only one way for McCain to make good on his hawkish foreign policy and his virtual pledge of more wars.

McCain will need to institute a draft for young American men (and, given the times, maybe for women as well).
