Fox News Channel referred to Michelle Obama as "Obama's baby mama" in a graphic this week, the latest in a trio of references to the Democratic presidential campaign that have given fuel to critics of the network.
The graphic "Outraged liberals: Stop picking on Obama's baby mama" was flashed during an interview with conservative columnist Michelle Malkin about whether Barack Obama's wife has been the target of unfair criticism.
"Baby mama" originated as urban black slang for a woman who has a baby with a man who is not her husband or her boyfriend.

That made the Sydney papers.
There seems to be an overt sense of desperation with the anti-Obama types.

How did a 44-year-old Harvard Law School graduate become so demonized? One reason is the increasingly viral quality of the Internet.

Google "Michelle Obama" and the term "whitey" and you'll find conservative bloggers claiming a video shows her using the racially tinged term at Trinity Church. No tape has ever surfaced. But the claim helped prompt the Obama campaign to launch its own Web site, FighttheSmears.com.

(Put some bladdy clothes on.) Whoopie played back the tape on her "I am finally really proud to be an American" line, and all the chicks noted the emphasis on the inflection of the word really. As noted above by Norton, she's getting a makeover - and a rapid response team. As elections get closer the negative attacks will increase. The nastiest attacks usually come withing about 3-4 days before the election because there isn't enough time to respond to them.

The right-wingers will be focusing more on BO's wife, I think, as it seems they don't have any Obama skeletons to let out of the closet.

A bit of wishful thinking. This is not to say that I know of any Obama skeletons or even that those running the red team smear campaign do either. But just like in past elections if either team (red or blue) doesn't have anything true to use to smear they'll make shit up.

I mean haven't ya heard Obama is a muslim. Rumor out just today that Obama, if elected, will be mandating headscarves for all US females when they go outside or are in the presence of members of the opposite sex.

And the blue team just leaked that McCain will not just drop the federal ban on offshore drilling but he will mandate drilling in Alaska, and reintroduce the clubbing of baby seals in Alaska as well.
