If the Bush doctrine were followed the precondition for negotiating with Iran over it's nuclear program would be to have Iran stop their nuclear program before Bush would talk to them about stopping it. Maybe, but only because some happened to be in the country, I was there just a few years prior to the hostage taking and I thought that the country was a lot better off with the Shah running things, lots of advancement in the country and more freedoms, but the Muslim leaders like Khomeini [sp] can not stand that so when the CIA let him leave France instead of killing the son of a bitch it was a sad day for the Iranian people and a bright day for the Taliban.
But if left to his own devices I do think that the Shah would have caused some trouble in the mid east with his ambitious desire to control all oil in the mid east and would have eventually taken over even Saudi.
