If Obama picks her I don't see how he can possibly continue with the same campaign message he has built his candidacy on - that of change. We have been hearing over and over again for at least the past month about how Hillary supporters feel they are being ignored and/or not fairly represented (Hillary even made a point of this in her speech from NY last night). Now that she has let it be known that she would accept the VP slot if Obama does not pick her he risks alienating many of her hard-core supporters. While to some degree taking in Hillary as a running mate makes since from a statistical view point - brings in the female vote, and the working class. From a fundamental message point of view Hillary is about as far from the Obama message as one could be and still be a member of the blue team. IMHO Obama giving Hillary the nod for VP would decimate his message of change and give credence to the view that he is no different than any other politician.

^Bugs, you be da man. Hilary is a desperate, grasping opportunist. Of course she would take the VP slot if offered. I hope Barak would not offer it to this slut, bitch of a politician. Let him stand on his own merits or not.

She won't be the VP. Bill has proven himself to be a major liability. He is so egotistical that he would be constant embarrassment. Obama doesn't need to spend his time as president explaining what Bill meant by his words or actions. He doesn't need to spend his time cleaning up after Bill. Bill has the attitude that if you don't like what I,m doing why did you offer to have me over. He is who he is and he's not going to change for anyone else's sake. He is selfish and self-indulgent to the max. Eventually, Bill's chummy attitude he uses to barge into your party, wedding, funeral, etc. will stop being novel. Can a sixty year old man be a wedding crasher? Is it still hip, cool and irreverent at that age? The last day of the campaign, South Dakota and Montana are voting, and he can't keep his mouth shut. He has to call the author of the Vanity Fair article a "scumbag". He doesn't know when to shut up. He doesn't realize that it isn't his world. The other people around you are real, Bill, they live and breath too. For the sake of other people shut up Bill. Hillary and Bill should have no official or unofficial position in the Obama administration that Bill Clinton can exploit and bring embarrassment to.

Yes, I know that, dear ray. But she is a senator not a congresswoman. You've been missing from the board lately; the tefl masters barring your internet access? | |

something to consider regarding her chances for VP.... every possible VP (and his/her spouse) will undergo an exhaustive vetting process before getting the nod. there's no way bill clinton is going to allow that...the conventional wisdom is that the donor list to his library is full of problems.

Here you go: (from the BO campaigners) In the excitement of the past few days, there's some news you may have missed. John McCain and the Republican National Committee released their fundraising numbers for May, and we've got our work cut out for us. The McCain campaign raised $21 million, which will be combined with $23.7 million raised in partnership with the Republican National Committee. That's nearly $45 million dollars in one month -- money that will be used to attack Barack Obama and support John McCain's effort to extend the policies of George W. Bush for another four years. We need to respond quickly and show that we are ready to take on Senator McCain in the general election. Now is the time to take the next step and own a piece of this campaign. If you make a $25 donation today, your gift will be matched by a previous donor who has agreed to give again. You can even choose to exchange a note with them about why you support Barack. Help reach the goal of 10,000 first-time donors and build our movement to take on John McCain: https://donate.barackobama.com/match

[quote=Milkman;647279]It would be interesting if the Democrat Obama chooses Chuck Hagel (R-Nebraska) and the Republican McCain chooses Joseph Lieberman (D-Israel), with each vice presidential candidate being from the opposing party. It's not as far fetched as it seems, since both candidates are looking to bring in that huge pool of disaffected independent voters. Except for his anti-war and pro-privacy positions, the war hero Hagel is a younger, smarter and more charismatic version of McCain. Based on that psychology alone, Hagel would be a great choice for Obama.
