You heard about that huge crowd that turned out for BO in Oregon? What many news reports forgot to mention was BO was immediately preceded by a free concert by a very popular band.

That band, The Decemberists, is known for using the National Anthem of the Soviet Union as an introduction at their concerts.

OK...

Have YOU read the book, Boon? I'm waiting for YOUR opinion.

i doubt you'll answer, but it seems clear that the neo-con agenda has put the 'state of israel experiment' at great risk.

of course obama's reaction was not over the top....whatever happened to leaving domestic politics at the water's edge? but in the end GWB only damaged the GOP with his phony posturing.

appeasement? who's negotiating with N. korea? who's negotiating with qadaffi? and for christ's sake who's even negotiating with iran (about iraq)?
answer: the bush administration.

Simple question: Was Israel more secure before 9/11 is more to the point, eh?

What does 9/11 have to do with Israel?
You aren't one of those who believe Mossad are responsible, are you?

Clinton to Obama: There's no nominee yet

Quote:
MAYSVILLE, Ky. - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton on Monday said her opponent Barack Obama may be getting a little ahead of himself in acting like the party's nominee before the final contests of the primary season are over.
Quote:
"You can declare yourself anything, but if you don't have the votes, it doesn't matter," Clinton said Monday in a satellite interview with an Oregon television station before a campaign appearance in Kentucky.
Quote:
The former first lady trails Obama in the delegate count by such a margin that it is mathematically unlikely for her to overtake him in the remaining primaries, which end June 3 with Montana and South Dakota.
But both candidates have been angling to win over the party leaders and elected officials known as superdelegates, whose support will likely determine the nominee.
Quote:
Clinton said Obama, who has refused to debate her since they last faced off just before the Pennsylvania primary last month, would "rather just talk to giant crowds than have questions asked."
Clinton to Obama: There's no nominee yet - Yahoo! News

Well, she and Billy boy must have a grand plan to sew up the VP slot through all this. That would be a terribly disappointing sell-out by Obama and may cause me to switch my support to McCain if he sells out like that.

That would be effectively a totally emasculated campaign by Obama caving into the Clintons. He would then live with the monkey on his back (Hilary), and the fox in the henhouse (Bill), in the White House for the next 4 years.

Emasculated and unable to effect leadership. Hardly a good follow up to the Bush fiasco.

Hillary wins big in Kentucky, Obama wins big in Oregon!!

Sounds like a draw but Obama has clinched majority of pledged delegates and now cannot be overtaken by Hillary. Expect to see uncommitted super delegates who have said they will support the candidate with the majority of pledged delegates go to Obama in the next week.

“The claws come out” – looks like the Dems might really end up a bit divided come November. If the super delegates over turn the popular vote they will also be over turning the black vote. IMO this will lead to a significantly reduced black voter turn out come Nov.

On the other hand if the super delegates do what most expect them to do and give the nod to Obama then it looks like they will diminish the lead they have had in the women’s vote.

The Kentucky exit polls have Hillary supports once again saying if she is not in the top spot for the blue team come November they will either vote for McCain or not vote at all:
Quote:
Kentucky exit polls showed seven in 10 whites voted for Clinton. Only one-third of Clinton backers said they would vote for Obama, with another 40 percent defecting to McCain and the rest saying they would stay home.

http://www.suntimes.com/news/sweet/961845,052108sweetweb.article

Now we got a Steve Corbett call (real or ratings spin-up?) for folks to not fall in line as the blue team leaders urge everyone to back Obama:

Quote:
The voice of a movement that got underway last week on WILK News Radio belongs to all Democrats who refuse to do as we’re told and vote for Barack Obama if he receives the party nomination for president.

If Obama’s the chosen one, we’re turning him down.

Count us out.
WILK-FM - It's A Turndown Day

Add to that the “Clinton Supporters Count Too” group:
Female fans put Hillary Clinton before Democratic Party - BostonHerald.com

Quote:
Now, growing numbers of Democratic women - including the pro-choice and anti-war - are threatening to bolt the party if Barack Obama is the nominee. Theywon’t vote at all or they’ll pull the lever for John McCain, a pro-life white guy who’ll likely appoint enough new Supreme Court justices to overturn Roe v. Wade.
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,23710227-2703,00.html
Quote:
In a press release, the group said: "We have a plan to campaign against the Democratic nominee. We have the (wo)manpower and the money to make our threat real. And there are millions of supporters who will back us up in the swing states. If you don't listen to our voice now, you will hear from us later."

Thinks could get pretty ugly for the blue team before this is all over.

Then again the groups might be just fringe folks that won’t count for much or won’t have the backbone to do what they say they will do and come November will fall in line and vote for the blue team no matter what.

""This is not a book about the decline of America, but rather about the rise of everyone else." So begins Fareed Zakaria's important new work on the era we are now entering. Following on the success of his best-selling The Future of Freedom, Zakaria describes with equal prescience a world in which the United States will no longer dominate the global economy, orchestrate geopolitics, or overwhelm cultures. He sees the "rise of the rest"—the growth of countries like China, India, Brazil, Russia, and many others—as the great story of our time, and one that will reshape the world. The tallest buildings, biggest dams, largest-selling movies, and most advanced cell phones are all being built outside the United States. This economic growth is producing political confidence, national pride, and potentially international problems. How should the United States understand and thrive in this rapidly changing international climate? What does it mean to live in a truly global era? Zakaria answers these questions with his customary lucidity, insight, and imagination."

Got that right!
This is the guy who writes for Newsweek magazine. 'Bout the most anti-American POS rag out there these days. I wouldn't wrap a dead fish in it...

Haven't got hold of a copy in English - Portuguese is the lingua franca 'round here...

Obama flaunting anti-American propaganda in public!
And certainly not to read it, well beyond the understanding of a 'coon' who got his degrees through racist discrimination against the Whites.

Heh!
