| ^ Ya, I read that, too. I bet Michelle would punch Bill's lights out if he'd tried any Lewinsky moves. I doubt Hilde would go for VP or that Obambi (I just read that in the NYorker article) would ask her. Bambi needs a governor with long-time service and a great foreign policy record. Mebbe Bill Richardson? |

| Sundance is my bff | ^Yeah, I agree Richardson makes a lot of sense for either candidate, but maybe more for Obama as it would help to get the hispanic vote in the general election, which is his weak point. I was reading about how McCain must now turn his attention to a running mate, and has to pick somebody with youth because of the worry of his age. I suppose Obama has the reverse problem. He needs to pick an elder statesman as junior mentor. I'm not sure what the Hildebeast would need in a VP, but I can see her clashing with just about any strong person who's not a yes man. * I think the implication is that having a two term President as your spouse counts for a lot. |

| Sundance is my bff | Republican McCain trails Clinton and Obama: poll 1 hour, 17 minutes ago WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain trails Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in hypothetical matchups, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released on Wednesday. Illinois Sen. Obama leads McCain by 12 percentage points -- 52 percent to 40 percent; New York Sen. Clinton leads McCain by 6 points -- 50 percent to 44 percent, the poll found. | Sundance is my bff | I think it is hypothetically possible. If Clinton gets the nomination and polls show her too close to McCain, I don't think it's out of the question that in order to win the Democratic party would encourage this. I think it would assure a victory for her. I know now it's not even under discussion, but let's wait.... *Keep in mind that this could just be the ultimate tactic for winning the Presidency. I don't think Bill would ever serve as VP for long. He'd probably go 6 months, then would be re-assigned as some special envoy, and she would appoint someone else. The ultimate end game winning strategy. I should be paid for this stuff. |

| Sundance is my bff | ^Obama would be smart to take the VP position, and he doesn't seem to suffer from the same kind of foolish pride she has. It would set him up for bigger things later. I think a more serious risk is that if this fight goes all the way to the floor of the convention, there will be so much blood letting that it may be a seriously weakened ticket. |

| I agree with KID and CT. Obama is young. They are both close to each other in delegates and polls. They are basically close to McCain in the polls (although polls shift weekly and monthly). But together, I think an HRC/Obama ticket would be hard to beat. |

| Sundance is my bff | Yes, I think that's also true for most of the Rocky Mountain states. The issue here is Obama winning the Democratic nomination. He will have his work cut out for him winning the general election in the Rockies, but then, again, the Rockies don't really matter that much because not much population there. |
