Barring a total collapse of Obama's campaign even if Hillary wins every state left Obama will still have more committed delegates and will have won more states. The only argument Hillary can then make is she has won the bigger states.

IMO, the Dems are at great risk if this keeps on much longer. McCain wrapped up the nomination today and is free to refocus his sights on the Dems. Hillary and Osama continuing to fight each other is not in the interest of the Dems as a party.

Now that Hillary has won Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island she will no doubt be energized to continue even though she has no chance of getting the committed delegates she needs. Neither the the DNC or the super delegates will or should step in and back either candidate at this time. This race is destined to go right through June and will likely be decided on the convention floor. In the mean time, McCain will be sharpening his swords and be in a much better position to make what looked a few months back like a slam dunk for just about any Dem candidate a very close race in the Presidential campaign. Agree or disagree with his stance, McCain has proven to be a wily, convincing opponent and will gain support from moderate Dems and Independents while the Dems are battling it out.
Brilliant analysis, Norton.

McCain has his handlers and coaches to refine his message and image. He's mulling the long-list for VPs.

I agree, we may wait until the convention for a (D) Nom.

These 3 states gave HRC momentum, and the delegate count remains dead-locked.

I sure got it wrong in OH and TX.

I think Hilary would be better to step down and let Obama take a crack at the title.

IMHO she showed herself in a very bad light with her attacks on Obama when she was in the middle of her losing slump. Not a good sign to see someone react that way just because they are under a little pressure.

Hillarious would no sooner play second fiddle to a rookie like Osama than she would admit Dubya has ever made a single intelligent decision in his life.

It's a genetic, inbred thing. Impossible.

I was down watching the boys finish install of a new aircon hepa filter unit in my living/TV room just now and Aljazeera has on campaign coverage and Hilderbeast is acting like she just shot a "speedball" in the main line.
Actually acting like a fucking idiot instead of a candidate for the prez of the USA,, more like a Jr. high school cheerleader with hot nuts.

But I kind of hope that she does get the nom. instead of Obama, neither one would be a good prez for the country, McCain to fucking old really, but he will beat Hildy a lot easier than Obama, even tho I do think he can do that as well, but why not make it as easy and sure as possible, I don't live there no more, And will not ever live there again in this lifetime, and so it is no more of my business what happens than it is the Brits, Aussies or Newfoundlanders,, but everyone wants to show how much they are into the citizen of the world these days.

Did you know the average male is 6 inches long, and the average female is 8 inches deep? So in New York City alone there is over 3 miles of unused pussy!

^ She needs to landslide the rest of the states to snatch it..... Give up now Hillary and help Obama get in the hot-seat...

I hope the voters don't find out that he is left-handed.... America isn't ready for that yet...

Hillary Clinton staged a remarkable comeback today to win the Texas and Ohio Democratic primaries.
Clinton's triumphs this evening in the big two states voting today followed a win in Rhode Island earlier, breaking rival Barack Obama's month-long string of victories in the state contests to pick a candidate for the November US election.
The Illinois senator's streak had left Clinton trailing in the number of delegates to the summer convention that will pick the presidential candidate, and analysts said the New York senator needed to win Texas and Ohio to slow his momentum and have a chance of catching him.
The hard-fought Democratic presidential duel moves on to contests in Wyoming and Mississippi and the next major showdown in Pennsylvania on April 22, with Clinton still trailing Obama in the pledged delegates who will choose the nominee at the August convention.
"We're going on, we're going strong, and we're going all the way," Clinton, 60, told roaring supporters in Columbus, Ohio. "We're just getting started."

Exit polls showed Clinton won big among voters who decided in the last few days, when she questioned Obama's readiness to be commander in chief and the sincerity of his pledges to renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement, which is blamed in Ohio for manufacturing job losses.
Under Democratic rules allowing the losers in each state to win a proportional amount of delegates, Clinton must win many of the remaining contests by big margins to close the delegate gap behind Obama.
John McCain secured the Republican nomination earlier in the day.
LATEST UPDATES:
8.08pm: A separate caucus continues in Texas and Obama is faring better than in the primary, the BBC says.
7.54pm: The updated delegate count is Obama - 1466, Clinton - 1376, according to the Houston Chronicle.
7.13pm: Clinton projected to win Texas.
6.53pm: Both candidates are standing firm in their belief they will win the nomination:
Obama: "No matter what happens tonight, we have nearly the same delegate lead as we did this morning, and we are on our way to winning this nomination."
Clinton: "We're going strong. And we're going all the way!"
6.51pm: Clinton's lead in Texas remain 3%, with almost three-quarters of the votes now counted.

6.03pm: The Houston Chronicle describes Clinton's Ohio win as "ending a near politically fatal losing streak". It reports Obama saying he expects the race to continue on to Pennsylvania on April 22.
5.17pm: Clinton speaks to supporters in Columbus, Ohio. "Boy, thank you, Ohio," she says as the main networks project her winning the crucial delgate-rich state of Ohio.

Ya, Norton. Nice summation. (applause)

Currently (about 10:30am, 5 March, New York time), the Dem count is about 1,307 Obama, 1,175 Hilde.

Give it up Hilde! Howard Dean must be having a very liberal fit. McCain is due for lunch in the White House. He'll get the whole GOP bandwagon of support and will just need to outline his policies. He'll pick off occasional donkey targets for fun -- he doesn't need to bash them coz they (Hilde & Bambam) will be bashing each other for him.

Rawlin, keep up to speed here, Darlin. I noted that Bambam is a southpaw already. But, guess what? So is McCain.

On the other hand, Hilary and Obama battling it out keeps the focus on... them.

McCain has to be careful if his only talking points are continuing the war in Iraq and business a usual with healthcare and the economy, which have never been areas of expertise for him.

As I was tucking my son into bed last night he asked me who won and when I said "Clinton" (he's seen the talking heads quite a lot on tv lately ) he said "Was she a faster talker?"

Yep, just watched the rose garden endorsement speeches with Bushy and Frozen Fry (I'm nicknaming him after McCain's frozen foods). Sheesh. Boring. Just alot of backslapping.
Saw part of a vid on Cindy -- the high school cheer leader. Oh, boy.

^ Ya, I read that, too. I bet Michelle would punch Bill's lights out if he'd tried any Lewinsky moves.
I doubt Hilde would go for VP or that Obambi (I just read that in the NYorker article) would ask her. Bambi needs a governor with long-time service and a great foreign policy record. Mebbe Bill Richardson?
