But him being a Conservative senator pushing Christian family values and all that, that makes it funny. And just another example of the hypocricy of politics, at least US politics.

In the UK and Europe there are several Gay politicians, who feel no need to deny it or make an issue out of it.

he voted yes on a constitutional ban on same sex marriage

"That's really common, and the gay rights groups ought to disavow that kind of crap," Carlson said on "MSNBC Live," hosted by network exec Dan Abrams.

Asked what happened next by a chortling Abrams and fellow MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, Carlson said, "I went back with someone I knew and grabbed the guy. ... Hit him against the stall with his head, actually!"

Abrams, a lawyer, and Scarborough, a former Republican congressman from Florida, roared with laughter.

The off-air reaction was quite different.

Video of the segment flew across the Internet, and prominent bloggers trashed Carlson.

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network called for an apology.

Explaining himself yesterday, Carlson said the man "physically grabbed me."

"I yelled, pulled away from him and ran out of the room. Twenty-five minutes later, a friend of mine and I returned to the men's room," he said. "My friend and I seized theman and held him until a security guard arrived."

Carlson denied he engaged in gay-bashing.

"I wasn't angry with the man because he was gay. I was angry because he assaulted me," he said.

Why is RC mean mouthing on this one, He is a lib and those are "HIS" people, at least CRAIG is again the Marriage thing for Queers.

One of the problems I've always had with the republican party, is that I've mostly been fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. There is no party for people like me. To be republican, you have to buy into all the religious nonsense, including the evangelical crap, and Craig should be held accountable for standing for these religious principals and is a hypocrite.

I have no problem if the guys like to get it through toilet stall holes. That's his business. But to be Republican, it doesn't wash.

Being a senator involves more than just showing up for votes in the Senate chamber. It involves character. I have no problem whatsoever with gay Senators, or bi senators, or straight.

But, to run on a platform that endorses whacko religious zealots and to publicly lambast Bill Clinton for sexual indiscretions (if you need the youtube link, I'll give it to you), again, doesn't wash.

Doctors reminds me of awhile back I was having a physical and the doc ran his finger up my ass, then I got off the table and asked him if we were engaged?
He didn't speak English to good and asked my wife what I had said,, she told him to pay no attention to me because I was crazy,,but she was laughing just the same.
