Absolutely right, this isn't the thread to discuss your sorry showing of late so this one last post to focus that rather denial-infested TEFLer 'brain' of yours to reality. You took a serious ass-whoopin' yesterday but that's OK.

btw..who's 'willie' or what is 'willie'?
You are confused...again

what's up with john mccain's excessive blinking?

surely i'm not the only one who's noticed this.

is it a side effect of some medication he's taking?

another 'senior moment' for mccain....

Quote:
John McCain told Newsweek that he did not deliver a portion from the prepared text of his speech last Tuesday chiding the media for not giving Hillary Clinton her due. But video from McCain's address shows him giving the line as written.

"The media often overlooked how compassionately she spoke to the concerns and dreams of millions of Americans," McCain said in a nationally-broadcast speech in Kenner, Lousiana. "And she deserves a lot more appreciation than she sometime received."

Asked about this statement in an interview last week with Newsweek's Holly Bailey and Jon Meacham, McCain interjected, "I did not [say that]—that was in prepared remarks, and I did not [say it]—I'm not in the business of commenting on the press and their coverage or not coverage."

Presented with video showing that the GOP nominee did in fact read the remarks as they were prepared, McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said Newsweek's account of McCain's answer is "paraphrased and unclear."

Rogers said he was not questioning the magazine's transcription, but pointing out that they included brackets.

But, given that he was responding to a direct question about a portion of the speech, it's unclear what else McCain could have been alluding to when noting twice that he "did not." That he also pointed out that the same section had been "in the prepared remarks" only clarifies that he was referring to the passage in question.

Newsweek's Bailey said the McCain quote as included in their q-and-a posted online was verbatim.

Rogers said McCain "answered the way he did because his point in the speech wasn’t so much to smack the press as to compliment Sen. Clinton for the tenacity and compassion she showed in her campaign, and as he said, he’s never been a fan of complaining about his own press coverage."
Jonathan Martin's Blog: McCain DID deliver line tweaking press - Politico.com

so he lashes out at the press, then denies that he lashed out....and then denies that he denied lashing out?

oh boy.

McCain has taken the lead on proposing solutions to the lifeblood of America: small companies, and the middle class.

I hope to see Obama follow his lead and propose something similar, though he will look like a follower when he does it. Not good for my candidate, Obama.

McCain wants low corporate taxes, regulated CEO pay

Quote:
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican White House candidate John McCain will promise on Tuesday to lower corporate tax rates if he wins the U.S. presidency and ease the tax burden on middle-class workers to help revive the faltering economy.
Quote:
"Will we enact the single largest tax increase since the Second World War as my opponent proposes, or will we keep taxes low for families and employers?" he will say, according to excerpts released before his speech.
Quote:
He supports keeping capital gains taxes low, doubling a tax exemption for children, and phasing out the "alternative minimum tax" which he said would save some 25 million middle-class families up to $2,000 in a year.

On Monday Obama drew a sharp contrast with McCain, his opponent in the November election, accusing him of wanting to widen President George W. Bush's tax cuts and plunge the United States deeper into debt.

Please let's hope Obama gets on the bandwagon to help small companies and the middle class, rather than overtaxing them.

I agree with Ray.

I have not read anywhere, or heard any speech or transcripts of Obama making a statement like this. What and where is the source for this "He wants to tax the crap out of everyone?"

Ok, let's see about these tax cut issues. The lefty US press is out bashing McCain, so I turned to Australia for a better synopsis of lay of the trail land.

"The Illinois senator twice repeated key aspects of his tax proposals, as he suggested Senator McCain had falsely presented his ideas.

“What he's prescribing in his speech is wrong for the country, and the way that he's characterising what I'm prescribing is just wrong,” Senator Obama said. “Let me be clear: my tax reform plan would cut taxes for 95 percent of workers.”

So, that's people earning $75,000 or less a year. You mean to tell me only 5% of Americans earn more than 75,000 buckaroonies a year? Come on.

Senator Obama also claimed that Senator McCain's plans would favor corporations over individuals.

Nope, McCain mentioned small businesses, which are the backbone of USA.

I must find more linkies on this tax shuffle. Also, Obama says he will pull out of Iraq and deploy more troops in Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan (how's he gonna do Pakistan when he hates Musharef?) And where will this money come from? Economic surge in the black ghetto areas where folks become tax-paying citizens?

A small sidebar:
...Senator Obama said it has been “months” since he last smoked a cigarette, but declined to provide much more detail. “I don't remember, but it was probably - it's been a while, you know . . . months.”

Oh, um, ya mebbe the last time I went to Trinity Church and smoked a few spliffs with tobacco as filler...

The bumbling old git McCain is the 2008 version of Bob Dole with a lot more baggage. Case in point: McCain cheated on and then abandoned his first wife Carol after she was disfigured in a car accident. And who was McCain's mistress while Carol sat home in a wheelchair? His current home-wrecker wife Cindy. That's far more repellent in my book than getting a BJ from an intern. McCain's an angry asshole who gets a free ride because of his sufferings as a war prisoner. I can't imagine Obama ever doing this to his wife:

Hogwash. What kind of free ride is McCain getting? He's held to the same standard as every other candidate. He doesn't ask or demand anyone make reference to his former POW status. In fact I'm sure he'd prefer it were not an issue.

Others do it because of how it makes THEM appear.
